I'll never be a fan of mastercam until they address the UI/UX inconsistency all throughout the software... BUT... I'll continue to watch your videos because you're an amazing presenter! Loved the calm pacing and excellent flow. Thank you for going over some of the new features.

Can you tell us more about those inconsistencies? I've been using MC for years and I have no issues at all. I've used other CAM systems before and MC has them all beat.

Glad you enjoyed the presentation! Every release they continue to standardize the UI and update every toolpath, if you have something specific in mind that needs attention make sure to relay that to your reseller or post on the forums to help guide the development team.

@@sweet_as_honey esc key behavior between functions are inconsistent. UI between old and new tool path operations are wildly different. Chain selection window varies between toolpath operations. The behavior of selecting items prior to clicking a function are inconsistent between functions... You've used it for years. surely you must have encountered at least the wonky selection behavior.

Can someone please help me? I cant get any help from customer support at Mastercam. I went to update to Mastercam 2025 it installed and updated to version 2 and but every time I open it it loads then immediately closes after 10 seconds. Has anyone had this issue before and how can I fix it. Its not a hardware issue I'm running an i9 and Windows 11. I've tried completely uninstalling it repairing it running as administrator everything and same issue. Thanks?

Hello Dave, your first line of support will always through the company you purchased Mastercam from. If that is MLC CAD Systems you can create a support ticket by email, phone, or online at www.mlc-cad.com/technical-support/ If this is a student or home learning edition, check to see if you have a dedicated graphics card. If you do, enable dedicated graphics. If that doesn't help, disable hardware acceleration to see if the instability is from graphics, which is the most common initial setup issue.

Am i the only one who is confused with the maximum minimum depth wording? I believe if the minimum and maximum would be switched it would be easier to understand.

In my experience, if you always look at the workspace from the perspective of the tool/spindle, things tend to make more sense. Maximum depth should be near the bottom and is the maximum depth of cut the toolpath is allowed to make. Minimum depth will be higher up on the part (but less deep from the perspective of the tool) and it won't try to cut anything above that line. Use Maximum depth to keep it from hitting your vise, and minimum depth to prevent it from cutting features that were already cut in a previous operation or needs to be excluded from this one.

At first, yes, but once you get used to looking at it from a "the tool will cut this deep" perspective, it usually works out fine.
