MASTERCAM TRICK: CUT A CUSTOM PROFILE THREAD USING GROOVING TOOL

With some tricks and some post processor modifications, you can use mastercam finish toolpath to cut a custom profile thread using a grooving tool.

which machine ? which control? so if you have mazak this won't work will it? cause there is really no G54 right?

Here is a constant pitch. Can you make this thread profile but with variable pitch on lathe? So the distance between turns to be different.
