Sushant Singh is a Senior Fellow at CPR. He was a lecturer in political science at Yale University (Fall 2019, 2021) and the Deputy Editor of The Indian Express, reporting on strategic affairs, national security and international affairs. He won the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Prize for Excellence in Journalism in 2017 and 2018.
Prior to becoming a journalist, he served in the Indian Army for two decades, including multiple stints in Jammu and Kashmir. It also included a tenure as United Nations Military Observer with the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations in Cote d’Ivoire.
He is the author of Mission Overseas: Daring Operations by the Indian Military and co-author of Note by Note: The India Story 1947-2017.

Sorry Laantop again this gentleman telling history (story) written by Britisher. 30 percent army was given to Pakistan. If so it's on agreed formula. Pakistan was basically a demand from Nawabs and landlords who had their own military personnel and once Pakistan came into existence these influential class took over the army for their own business. And same phenomenon still continues. Please refer to Lt. General Mr. Karim who has categorically stated that army personnel upto Lahor and present Indian Punjab were discipline but above Lahore and above pleatue were self centered and had their own interests. That's the main cause.
