Excellent rudder authority. Just above stall speed in some maneuvers. Extremely fine line between aircraft and anvil. A sink rate in slow rolls just above cushion of no go.

I learned to fly in a Stearman which the Navy called an N2S and known as the Yellow Peril. Navy Primary 1945 C-Stage was Aerobatics and we did most of the maneuvers flown here but at 4,000 feet, not at 40 feet. Our Stearman had a Lycoming 220 hp engine if he has the Army Air Corps version it is slightly higher.

Also knowing the stresses that plane could stand, after all it was just a trainer. If it’s really original, he did a great job. Of course the original didn’t have smoke, unless it was on fire!!!, so we’ll let that slide!!!! It’s livery is pre 1942, so................

That is a slip using full power. It is taught as a means of losing altitude quickly for a short field power-off landing. What he is doing is much more difficult.

Jimmy Franklin was the best. Doing turn arounds dragging a lower wing tip through a soybean field. Doing his death defying spins so low he would pull out behind some trees. But, Jimmy got so good he killed himself in a mid-air.

Well That Might Be a Slight Exaggeration,,,, Because Anyone Who Really In The "Know" About Stearmans,,, Know That a "Barn Door" Has a Far Better Flight Performance Envelope...
