I just started growing Italian Wax Peppers this year. For anyone in California, they are a really interesting variety to grow! They aren't actually Italian, but they come from Chilean immigrants to California. They are a different species (capsicum baccatum) and are adapted to the climate of California, especially Northern California.

YES. This is our first successful attempt to grow chili peppers. We’re in about a month with a method similar to yours, except we’re using a wicking pot. Rather than watering from the top, a cavity at the bottom is filled with water. We added cotton rope to help wick the water into the soul above it. Working very well! I was checking your video (good job!) about the best time to harvest! We’re ready to harvest! 😄👍🏼

I have been growing some of these peppers in my schools greenhouse for an agriculture science project on growing produce indoors in seperate size pots. They are not big enough for me to let them flower, but i cant wait to see them grow big! Watching this video has made me realize that I probably should get some bigger pots for them later on. I just planted one of these last weekend! I planted it next to a Serrano pepper and two jalapeno plants, about 4-5 inches apart. I know this is sorta cramped, but i hope it will still be alright. The plants get a lot of sunlight & I mulch very lightly with used coffee grounds. This is my first grow ever!

Anaheims are remarkably accepting of different climates too. I grow mine in Virginia Beach with great success, and we are likened to swamp conditions.

Container growing is extremely fragile ,and will not yield to inhospitable soil. I have no luck with this pepper. I first got to know about Anaheim pepper from your channel and i got some seeds from a local store. Been trying to grow them since Oct 2020, none are producing peppers till now. Some produce flowers but never peppers. Other got attacked by pest or diseases :(

Watering really depends on the weather. On hot sunny days, water more, on cooler days, water less. The pepper plants in containers can be watered for 3 to 4 mins (usually enough to drench a container) . So there is no short answer, but you get the idea!

Anaheim chillis, I'd say, are in the middle. Not truly hot but a lot hotter than a bell pepper. Probably too hot for the sensitive but it is one tasty pepper.

not true to variety.... if they still are long and slightly slender then my guess is they cross pollinated with "golden cayenne" they will be slightly hotter if my hypothosis is correct.

You can try watering with some fish emulsion, but don’t over do it. Too much nitrogen will encourage foliage growth instead of flowering/pepper production.

Your videos are very informative and enjoyable but I have to correct you that our New Mexico Chile Peppers are not the same. Maybe remotely related but a huge difference in taste and heat to those who truly know peppers. In fact many know New Mexico Chile as the Hatch Chile Pepper, how ever over the decades there are new varieties and it has been proven over and over again our peppers are a product of our geographical environment much like your avocados. Not to be judging, just have to clear the air as many think they are eating New Mexico Chile's and sadly unless they came from our soil they are not and you can taste the difference.
