Heykid009 I have to disagree on that. Colleges always recommend taking advantages of their exclusive interns/jobs through their schools. Film schools tend to have their own equipment, camera, sound stage that you can use whenever and as often as you like. You spend the first year, learning and the next 3-7 years building your portfolio. From what I've seen, most students accepted have a great understanding of filmmaking from their portfolio they got in with. Now its mastering and making yourself stand out.

My favorite thing about Nolan is that whenever I see his name attached to a project, I know I will go see it in theaters. Because I feel he doesn't dumb down his movies or assume the audience can't handle not seeing explosions every five minutes - he just wants us all to enjoy his journey and story with him.

Nolan hasn't made a bad movie yet
@TomboTime8 жыл бұрын
eh, Dark Knight Rises is considerably flawed IMO. Maybe I as well as the rest of the audience am just spoiled after the Dark Knight, and to be fair that's a tough act to follow, but even so I think Dark Knight Rises has some very glaring objective flaws like unintentional silliness in some bits, a villain that's hard to understand what he's saying, a twist ending that makes the advertised villain sort of lame in the grand scheme of things, large plotholes that are much bigger then plotholes have been in the past movies, and the fact that because it's a continuation of the plot from Batman Begins and has practically nothing to do with the events of the dark knight, when you think about it the dark knight didn't really need to exist within the chronology of these films.
@ZenoGoreng8 жыл бұрын
+TomboTime I agree with you that The Dark Knight Rises is probably his worst movie, but that is actually a compliment. I'm sure there are tons of directors who would want to have a movie like that as their worst one.
@JaredHuang8 жыл бұрын
+TomboTime I agree that the Dark Knight Rises is very flawed. Bane's voice is annoying and the ending is kinda stupid. But I can't call it "bad". A bad movie is one with terrible acting, an uninteresting or convoluted story, etc. I just think that out of all the pointless action Hollywood movies filled with nothing but explosions, this movie is well above all of those. Not even close to the same level as the Dark Night like you said, but nowhere near "bad." It does continue the story from the Dark Knight, Batman is in hiding a majority of the beginning bc he took responsibility for Dent. The movie is called "Rises" because he has to come out of hiding and become Batman one last time. I agree with you, I think this movie is flawed, but I firmly believe it was a great end to a great trilogy. That's all I wanted when I saw it the first time and that's what I got.

I can relate to the filmmakers sayin they never went to school. I just picked a camera of my dad's (yes I'm lucky to have a dad who collected cameras over the years) and just shot. I've been shooting for 10 years now, and you just develop your own style eventually and you learn from mistakes organically, from real experience. I think that's part of the reason these directors like Nolan and Tarantino have their own distinct style. School isn't a bad thing, and if you decide not to go, you better be practicing constantly. No matter if you go or not practice and an open mind is what will get you to mastery.

The thing with schools and universities is that the more you learn from others the less authentic and creative you are. I've been following a musician for a few years called Mr. bill who really loves just 100% doing what he wants, basically shitting on tradition/theory to a certain degree and he's been one of my major influences lately. He does love to learn from others when it comes to certain techniques, but in overall he loves to just try out stuff even if it's against the "rules". Very humble and real person, for anyone who is interested in electronic music production. *BTW he fully scored the music in a Nicholas Cage movie, lol. He kinda sees it as a meme.

Do you like Marvel movies? If so, watch the Dark Knight trilogy, best films in the superhero genre ever. As someone who enjoys some marvel films, TDK trilogy is a waaay better piece of cinema.

@@Luca-bv5ic I've seen dark night, but I'm mesmerized with joker character rather than Batman.
@Luca-bv5ic4 жыл бұрын
@@porapulka6102 ok so you have seen his movies. Yeah, the joker is the highlight and that's not really a bad thing. Honestly the joker is usually the highlight of anything he's in. The Tim burton batman film from 1989, the Arkham games...he's just a great character. Try watching batman begins and inception.

I'm here after Tenet. I've never felt so overwhelmed during a movie and I've watched every Nolan movie multiple times. This movie blew up my mind. It's probably because Nolan doesn't really understand the film himself. Whatever, this movie was amazing.
