how... how are you pushing the month cells when you change the value? What I mean is Let's say feb has 28 days and you have 28 columns between the FEB and MAR columns when you change the value in the FEB cell from 2/1/23 to 3/1/23 it changes to MAR, sure, BUT WHAT IS ADDING COLUMNS TO COMPENSATE FOR THE ADDED DATES IN BETWEEN? in my experience, the merged cell and the colour and formatting of it, would all generally stay in the same cell REFERENCE, and so the date of the new MARCH 29th would pop into the MAR cell wouldn't it?? breaking everything? Is the key in collapsible grouping?

oh NVM i missed that you left blank columns so all are equally 31 days long hmhmmhmmm sorry i spoke too soon xD

Yeah, you can either leave extra blank columns if you want to be able to have any month fit into any slot, otherwise for some people they prefer to keep it tied to a calendar year in which case February would need 29 days for leap year but otherwise you could remove the extra day columns.
