Yes and you can only have groups of 2^N (for examples 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, etc.) minterms

It is not compulsory to group only 1. Even 0 can be grouped. What to group depends on the form you want to achieve. Generally for SOP 1 is grouped and for POS 0 is grouped
