I'm binge watching these, and I try to like each one because they are so useful to me. But I thought I'd drop an appreciative comment as well. Honestly I was going to skip around and only watch the ones I really thought I needed, but what I discovered is that I NEED categories that I didn't even realize I needed. Like Metadata and collections. Even culling, I had no idea how powerful those tools could be and this will save me many hours of work. So I'm realizing now that I am too ignorant to really determine which of these videos I need to watch. So far, every single one is a gem of fantastic information that I WILL use. Thanks so much. I'm going to school.

I usually watch your KZbin videos on my TV where I don't have the facility to add comments. I just wanted to come in here and say thank-you for all these videos. Aside from being very thorough you have an excellent teaching voice. Many if not most KZbin videos are seemingly adlibbed and the presenter talks very fast as if he were an AM Radio DJ. It is obvious in your videos that a lot of thought has gone into the preparation and presentation. Thank-You.

Anthony - I have become a big fan of yours. Was recently browsing for LR tutorials and fortunately got yours and to be honest was really fascinated by the content. Got immediately subscribed to your channel and going through the tutorials. You are the man who shares knowledge from heart, thank you very much.

Thanks Anthony. I started out using darktable when all of a sudden it starts crashing so I decided to try LR. Went to do a shoot at a racetrack and shot 1900 images. In a week, just watching your videos, I feel like I have a grasp on using LR after watching about 10 of your videos. Thanks again and I bought 3 of your profiles to help support your efforts. 👍👍

Wow, I didn't realize just how important installing metadata into image files was. Thank you so much Anthony, I'll be doing just that from now on. Great video, and a big lesson learned here. Thanks again.

Been using LR for a while but now taking the time to really learn how to make the best use of this fantastic software by following this series, which is brilliant. So much I didn’t know, especially around the metadata. Thanks 🙏

Anthony....Yes I just looked it up Instagram strips your photo of metadata.

Hi Anthony, I opine: re missing meta data, you can of course put your name with the (c) copyright mark discreetly into the image; ditto into the file name and make images read only; if your name is on the image, though it could be cropped, copyright can be proved eg by your having the dated raw file; if your meta data may seem to be removed on some sites (perhaps as a security precaution), but not on others, then posting images to ones that display it before to ones that may not display it, acts as an extra precaution in case of any issues arising. I hope these opined suggestions are of some help.

This is Episode 5 of Mastering Lightroom Classic CC. In this video, I explain the importance of metadata then demonstrate how to edit it and create a preset so your metadata gets added to an image automatically during import. Thanks for all the good information. One thing I noticed, I filled out both sections just like you did and when I view in LR, it is all there, but when I look at the metadata, say in Preview/Inspector/IPTC, the data is not formated in the same order as it was entered. For instance the address line is all out of order.
@SuperPrufrock3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the metadata video. Two questios please: Q1 If I have my name contact and copyright details in my camera, are they transferred to the files when I download the to LRc? Q2 Is there a way of sorting all the images according to the metadata? i.e. If I want to find for instance all the images taken at 1/2000s ?
@najlaish Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the video. Do you have any idea if the metadata can be made non-editable? Because for example, if you go to image Properties in Windows, you can easily modify metadata.

Thank you for these amazing videos, I find them very helpful during the Covid19 quarantine time. Unfortunately many public photo sharing websites and social networks reserve their rights to own any photo you upload so they can use it for advertising/marketing if needed (this surely is covered in their ToS)

good tutorial on the topic. question: how do you best read the EXIF and IPTC data on a (JPEG)picture that go get some where .. Image EXIF viewer for Mac never shows me all data like address, tel nr or web site ...?

Thanks a lot for the new video! Can you do (or maybe it's planned anyway;) a video about the preferences and catalog settings in LR classic CC by chance? It's hard to find a video with explanations in this regard. Would be great! Thanks!

Do people still use Flickr? I kinda moved away from it a couple of years ago but if it keeps your exif data and other sites strip it, why not go back to it? I believe Twitter also strips the metadata.

I never upload pictures to Facebook as a photo. Instead, I add my photos through a link back to my website. That way FB can't strip anything and viewers that click on my image are taken to my website where they can buy my work.

If FB strip your Metadata and use your photo...what can you do to protect your rights as the owner of the photo...or are we fckd by FB even before they ask us to lie down
