Nice! I learned about timing back in the 70s and 80s from building slot car motors. I've always bought your rebuildable motors and set the timing @ +6 degrees depending on direction. One way for Traxxas builds. The other for everything else. Never had a nice power supply like yours.i used my ear to detect RPM increase. Thanks again for a good explanation of DC motor magic.

Follow-Up question: Does timing changes affect heat and lifetime of certain components (even if minimal)?
@lutach9 ай бұрын
Back in the early 90s before I got into brushless, I used an AJ's Black Magic brushed motor. They had a few models and was meant for drag racing. I never messed with any timing since a race night I lapped everyone and kind of got kicked out of the place I raced. I have a Black Magic motor somewhere in my basement, kind of makes me go down there to look for it lol.

You can do a video on it. Research what you can online about it and then video the search. If you find it make more videos.

Noob question, if these are O timmed does this mean all these motors would work with the Tamiya Clod Buster due to the unique dual motor setup?

I have a JConcepts 13T adjustable timing motor, but the end bell refuses to turn. What do I do?

May I ask what power supply that is?

Hey John with so much noise about hobbywing fusion, how about a side by side with your brushed motors with your esc's and a Traxxas TRX4 esc set to crawling. Comp crawlers with a brushed motor is so smooth and torquay along with the two speed trail trucks. The new people entering the hobby are being misinformed as to what clones vs. quality is vs. price. As yourself how many RTR setups have you had to throw away over the years? My SW4 performs flawlessly still. I bought into the Furitek hype last year a few weeks before you released your v3 mini. I am still to this day trying to smooth out the transition from FOC to sensorless. It always jerks, when I connect the app while driving, it jerks. I use your Revolver 1800KV, another flawless product.

Comparing brushless to brushed is like comparing apples to oranges. Brushless to brushless is the way to go.
@jerrywatson19589 ай бұрын
@@TheAmericanUhate all the settings in a brushless motor are to simulate a brushed motor. A dumbed down esc stuck on a mediocre motor is what less knowledgeable people are calling "the best". Comp crawlers and Scale Trail Trucks are only as good as the electronics and motors they have in them. All the rest is driver skill. A hand wound brushed motor on 4S. Mind blowing.

@@jerrywatson1958 try a brushless. Holmes 10 shooter 2700kv on 4s. Your brushed motor cannot even compare
@jerrywatson19589 ай бұрын
@@wellcrc-6703 I already have a Revolver the Castle esc's I have used are buttery smooth. Just noisy. I have a furitek Python but it is not a smooth transition from FOC to sensorless. I can use both esc's with a brushed motor. So it's all about control on the most technical parts of a rock climb. I am on 3S now. I plan on ordering some 4S packs.

@@jerrywatson1958 I run a copperhead 10 with my 10 shooter. It's like having a diesel engine in the truck and it also has explosive power when needed. The noise from the 10 shooter is about the same as an outrunner. I honestly don't mind the noise though. I have tried several brushed motors but once you get into the big boy brushed motors it's the same cost as a brushless with more hassle. It's a no brainer for me. Especially since I like mud and water

So in a nutshell , when you were advancing the timing , You are basically picking up your start up aka RPM with a little sacrifice of a little more draw on your battery aka runtime?
