Hey Suzanne, thanks for the tip, I already knew that using a saw was the best way to go, but I don't have a vice and saw and I also don't have the room or type of bench to attach the equipment needed! I was just trying to show an alternative way of getting a good result! I appreciate you sharing the info!! Have a great day!

Avonda, the tumbler is a great time saver, it has become my best friend in the jewellery making process! It cleans, burnishes and polishes your pieces all in one go! I will make a video soon for this process ok! take care and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions!!!

Please tell me more about your tumbler. How big, price range, etc. I don’t have one but will get one if you r3commend yours. Or if you are dreaming of @ different one, could you please tell me that, also? I love your videos and made this chain with square wire, in silver and loved it. The half round is so flimsy, I have a 20 gauge, that’s why. But I like it in square, too! Ordered the xuron pliers, too!

Hi Jill, I bought my tumbler on Ebay, it cost me around the $50.00 AUD mark, which would be less in US dollars! I have had it for around a year now and I am very happy with it. I don't have any other tumbler in mind to buy at the moment as the one I have does a great job! The brand is called Vevor model No. VD 6808 mini tumbler. Oww I have to try this link in a square wire! (I don't work with square wire very much) Thanks for the tip! I wouldn't make this link with anything less than 18g half round, as I agree with you, it would be way too flimsy! Please let me know what you think about the cutters when you get them!? take care and have a happy day! x

Thanks! This is a great technique for making a very handy chain link. Smaller links work great as extender chains on necklaces. I'm wondering if one could gently hammer a length before forming to increase the sturdiness. Would the half round wire hold up to a rubber hammer or rawhide mallet?

Linda you are right! This is a beautiful link and so wearable too! So, was it decided that the regular cutters are best over the Xuron or was it the wire gauge that made the difference? What gauge wire and cutters did you use in that lovely chain you shared at the end? It is stunning! And you are right, a tumbler makes all the difference. I own that same one and it just finishes pieces beautifully. Thank you for sharing with us. Already looking forward to your next lovely tutorial.

Hi Lauretta, The Xuron cutters are great and worth every penny! The only thing I found was it's difficult to cut small jump rings with them because the nose of the cutters is too wide, but for everything else they are great! I love my tumbler and don't know how I managed before I got it, the hours I spent cleaning and polishing I will never get back! LOL xxx
