I usually just mask off fender during sealer in this situation. It’s an option!

Great video. Thanks for keeping everything real time while you're panting (at least I think it was). I learn by watching the rhythm of your movements. And also thanks for mentioning the times between coats. If you don't mind maybe you could mention the pressures and gun settings although I know it will vary depending on the gun. I'm in Canada too. If you don't mind saying. Where are you located? Also nice you get a view out the window. :-) Great stuff. Thanks.

Thanks, I'm about an hour East of Toronto. I run most of my guns wide open, the pressure on that I believe was around 25-28. I use so many different guns that I tend to forget what it's set at.
@davesage91904 жыл бұрын
@@Refinishnetwork So you say 25-28. Is that the line pressure into the gun? I see in the data sheets for the gun I have they say pressure "at the cap"? But how do you correlate pressure into the gun with the cap pressure?
@Refinishnetwork4 жыл бұрын
I find it really useless that manufacturers specify cap pressure as everyone uses inlet pressure. They have specialized equipment for measuring this if one were inclined. Some Gun manufacturers will provide the ratio on what an inlet pressure will provide at the cap. I think it grossly over complicates everything working in cap pressure.

@@Refinishnetwork Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. Sort of a useless spec. Certainly not convenient. Thanks for the reply.

When you painted the in side of the door you could of sealed the out side of the doors then prepped. You shouldn't have to seal anything. The car should be prepped before it goes into the booth. The sealer will travel further than paint especially inside the doors thats why some have to put hard lines in the jambs
@Refinishnetwork3 жыл бұрын
For sure, that would be a fine way to do it in many cases. Many sealers need to have paint applied within a certain timeframe or else they need to be re-sanded, I guess it depends on your workflow what will work best.
@mikemetcalfe15263 жыл бұрын
@@Refinishnetwork when you seal it that way you are also wasting product and making you blend areas smaller. Thus wasting more paint. You should have taped up the panels that dont need sealer, eg. The fender and the quarter panel. Especially if you didnt have the down draft booth (most of your viewers dont have)you have to cover all other panels from sealer over spray getting on the blend panels

Would it be an option to sand the edges of the sealer say with 800 grit instead of using the blender?
@Refinishnetwork4 жыл бұрын
Yes. You could wet sand the edges with 800 or finer after about 15-20 mins depending on the sealer.
@Refinishnetwork4 жыл бұрын
I prefer it because it’s faster and less work. I don’t think the end result would change much.

Hi there Jimbo just one quick question: what's your salary more or less at this stage of your career?
@jamesofallthings3684Ай бұрын
So you're just gonna have build up on the fender and door because you can't handle spraying two doors at the same time?

What the best premium gun you use i hope you alive 💔
@jamesofallthings3684Ай бұрын
Why are you painting one door at a time?!?!?!?! No way you are getting equal coverage doing that. Omfg and you're clearing one panel at a time. How do you have a business it's crazy.
