Why do the verbs used in this grammar have to be in the TA form (in the past)? That way, doesn't it suggest something the person should have done in the past? Like, "You should have gone to the hospital". Thank you.

努力(どりょく)したほうがいいですよ。 It is ok😊But it might sound too cold and strong. Be careful if you want to use it !😊
