I just brought one of these home a few hours ago and your video was great in showing me exactly how to use it. Skimming the instructions, I missed where it described the anti-splinter insert. It was nice to learn how to use this part.

#2 on my favorite Dewalt tool list, i have a tip for new users of a jigsaw, you can snap a potion of the blade off before cutting if the stroke of the blade strikes material below or behind what you only want to cut. or when cutting just thin material like fiberglass or thin wood. sometimes the back of cabinets are to close to a wall or inside an auto and you need to cut an access, this helps.otherwise it will just bounce around.

Thank you for sharing that tip with us and thank you for supporting the channel 🙂✌️❤️

This was my 4th and last tool that I have bought so far. To be honest I didn’t use much for a long time. I just wasn’t doing much woodworking where I needed to make curved cuts. And that is how I always viewed this saw. This was gonna be my go-to for those times when I needed to make a curved cut. I had to replace subfloor in my trailer due to mold and rot. I used to cut the advantech around the base of toilet and for the dryer vent. That was it for many months. Then I ran across some jigsaw vids on KZbin and was curious if I could be utilizing it for more applications than I was. I learned that I was definitely underutilizing this saw. I love this saw for when you got those shorter 2x4. cuts that are awkward to make off of a table. The biggest advantage over those cuts versus a circular saw is that you don’t have to worry about dealing with the guards. The guard on my 6 1/2” circular always catches on those short cuts. So I either have to hold it open or rig it to stay open. At that point is where those shorter cuts start to get slightly sketchy. They become a whole lot less sketchy with that jigsaw. You don’t have a guard to deal with and it is LOT more narrower than the circ. Plus it’s so light you don’t have to have a table to make a safe and secure cut. It’s a little slower on the actual cross cutting but overall I don’t feel like I lose any significant time on those types of cuts versus the circ. And I learned a feature on that jigsaw from another video that really surprised me. You don’t have to drill a starter hole for your blade in most 1 by and smaller. It’ll make a plunge cut like you wouldn’t believe. So I have fallen in love with my jigsaw. Now that I’ve had the chance to work with it more. I think it is far more versatile than the 6 1/2 circ. As long as you not working with materials much thicker than 2/4s. So if I had to pick between the circ and the jig I’d have to say goodbye to the circ.

Congrats Ray, Marius is sending you a solid saw! I picked this up with the battery promo deal during the Holidays. The saw runs very well, and cuts extremely well. Run one of the newer 3.0 or 4.0 XR packs, and it will cut even better. It does run just fine with the 5.0 XR pack. 👍👍👍👍👍😁✌🏻🇺🇸

@mastering mayhem Which tools are most important in acquiring for DIY? I don’t have any cutting tools yet. Just an angle grinder, drill, impact driver, impact wrench.
@MasteringMayhem3 жыл бұрын
For all of the DIY work I’ve done I have used the Recip Saw and Circular saw the most. The job saw was the 3rd most used for me. I also have a 3” cut off but I use that very rarely. So I would put them in that order of use or importance.

@MasteringMayhem3 жыл бұрын
Those gloves are actually my old motorcycle gloves. The brand is Scorpion. But they have good protection of the knuckles and good padding on the palm and very flexible and lite. Not very rugged but very useful and comfortable. Here’s the link to the exact pair if you’re interested: amzn.to/3rcR2AO
