Yes to Panda Restoration! We want to see more. I love how MasterMilo went from destroying cars 15 years back to now restoring cars. Each has its place. Can you mod a 4x4 Panda? If you can get it I think you should look into the opportunity for adding a differential lock or limited slip differential.

Waterproof the electrics and fit a snorkel, not forgetting to extend the differential breathers.

Live axles should be pretty easy to outright swap if one wants a locker and if none exist for this particular rear axle. Harder part might be economically replacing a rear axle with the same gear ratio as the front differential. The bigger issue might be no ability to lock the center differential. That could really harm its offroad capabilities.

I also had one a long time ago (25 years). It has never let me down. Awesome car. Black with 2 gray doors, licenseplate RF-51-DL. Rust finally killed my Panda. From the back seat you could see the rear wheel turning 🤣

Nice restoration project, a phase 1 4x4 with the 965cc pushrod engine must be a very rare car these days, only ever seen 2 in the UK, one of which was this rotten nearly 20 years ago when it was scrapped.

in Italy it's not so rare because it's one of the best offroad light vehicle ever made aand owners know it! other panda models has gone rotten but not the 4x4!

@@mdani76was thinking specificly about the early ones with the pushrod engine upto 1985 I think. The later ones with the 999cc FIRE engine are a lot more common and I think they also got better rust proofing so survive. Wern’t they also still avalable on the Italian market much later than most other markets so I think most the ones you still see around the alps are 90’s built ones (In the UK I think the Panda 4x4 was off sale by around 1991 and the 2WD one by about ‘94, we then had a long gap before the new Pandas came out around 2003). Certainly brilliant cars though. Small and basic, yet spacious and incredibly functional.

Well, by that time it'll be the black Panda that has become a 4x4. A lot of wrenching and some grinding&welding coming up! (The black body wasn't made for a driven rearaxle, so that'll take some modification.)

The black one he pick up in Germany has only one rusthole, he talked to the RDW (rijksdienst voor wegverkeer) and he could get a Dutch registration after the 4x4 conversion.

@@serpent08n Can't help that technical inspections are diffrent We have to go yearly. Its done at the garage who does the service you car as well and by the same mechanic that does service your car. If there is a issue you get a call with replace this and that or we have to fail your car.

4WD in all gears, you just pull a leaver to engage rear axle when you want it. They are 5 speed with quite a low 1st though so on the road you’d normally start in 2nd unless you wanted to go slow.

ah leuke auto's waren dat, heb er ook 1 gehad, noemde het de mini rangerover omdat het model praktisch hetzelfde is. Heb nog een zijaanzicht foto van een panda naast een P38 rangerover, net de kleine broer naast de grote broer. 750cc blokje, in de range had ik een 4.6ltr, effe verschil
