Hi guys. Firstly, I want to thank you for the great content. I’m a long-time viewer and I love what you do and when I saw the title of this vid I was particularly interested. A little context here before I go on. I am a 37-year-old guy from England and I decided to go tee total nearly three years ago. I never had an alcohol dependency, never attended an AA meeting and never really discussed my relationship with booze with anyone. I drank about once a week when out with mates and liked having a laugh and getting pissed. I decided to completely stop because I get anxiety and tended not to know when I’d had too much. This worried me a bit. I really thought hard about posting this message as I don’t want to criticize you at all, I think you’re great and pozzy vibes n all that but I thought your vid perhaps wasn’t totally considered and maybe sent the wrong message to sober or sober curious people. A big obstacle and fear folks have when deciding whether or not to take the plunge is “will I be able to enjoy myself without a drink”. I think your vid when some way to compound that a little and when thinking about it more, I think you were kinda destined to fail from the start. My advice to anyone who wants to make the change from drinker to sober for whatever reason is as follows and I hope you don’t mind my contribution. 1- Give yourself time to adjust before going to a festival. A festival is probably one of the toughest places to be sober. Build up to it. 2- Don’t try and emulate what you did when drinking when sober. Substituting alcoholic drinks for non, can’t be expected to have the same results. 3- Choose your festival carefully. As mentioned in this vid, festivals with a bit more to do will provide more entertainment. 4- Try not to be the only sober person. Pissed people are no fun unless you are too! 5- Consider your schedule a bit more. Spend the earlier hours with all your drinking mates and maybe head off when you feel they’re pissed and you’re not. Pissed people are no fun unless you are too! 6- Be real. It will take some self-control and time. It isn’t easy. But it gets easier and actually better I have found. 7- Savour the times when being sober is beneficial. Get up and have a walk and a coffee. Enjoy the fact you have no hangover, the weather is good, you’re not going to work and you’re in for a great day making memories you’ll actually remember. 8- Meditate. A tool I wish I’d found years ago. Try the app ‘Headspace’. 9- Do the maths. How much money have you saved not drinking? Treat yourself for succeeding. As I said guys, I don’t mean to criticize. I genuinely think you guys are awesome and living the dream. I just wanted to add a bit to conversation. Much love! Ed x

Brilliant advice. I quit drinking because my naughty side was going to get me into trouble and years later I'm glad I did. My skin looks brilliant and health wise I feel great. It's been a few years no alcohol and I only ever miss it on New Years Eve but am always feeling cocky the next morning when I'm tickideeboo and every other mofo is waking up hungover and might be doing the walk of shame! Im not kidding when I say, that I stopped drinking at festivals, and I enjoy it even more now. I enjoy being there in the moment when my favourite artists are performing, and on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th days, not having a massive hangover, specially when the camping is far away is a game changer. I really do believe the experience can be as good sober as it is if u are drunk

Stopped drinking 6 months ago and just did my first sober festival (Bloodstock). Despite having 100s of ales on tap there wasn't one alch free beer in the arena! All in all had a smashing time checking out bands, mates were super supportive of it and was glad not to be hungover in the 32 degree heat. But yeah some festivals need to accommodate the non drinkers, especially those who drove down on day tickets. Smashing video nonetheless!

Nice one team big up the sober crew. Been watching all your content in-between my own sober 8 week festival season this year. Quit drinking and drugs in 2017 and have had a blast doing festivals sober the last 5 years. I'm more fun, have more energy, dance more than most, im funnier to be around. Oh and I remember everything, all the music, the sets, the in jokes, pointless facts, peoples names. Alcohol is saturated in our society. So hard to get away from in the summer. Well done for doing this and showing us another side. Even if you gave up again! Was so gutted you lot caved in the last attempt to do a sober fest. Glad you (Slightly) did better this time. Hope you had fun. Love the channel. Go in hard next year. Do a FUN festival sober. Or 1 day sober at a fun festival. One which has stuff to keep you stimulated. I'd recommend and say come to Boomtown. Just been to my 8th, would love to see you lot give it a go, even though i'm guessing not your usual bag. Think you'd love the immersive aspect of boomtown! Loads of stuff to do both sober and twisted. But yeah not surprised you got bored being sober at that one. Think you'd at least done one full sober day at boomtown!

i highly recommend a dance festival sober! Electric Forest is very creative and has a lot of hidden gems and shenanigans. There is a lot to do in the forest and you can dance your booty off. always something to do, great food, and NA drink options

I was at Bingley for the Saturday. I enjoyed most of the acts I saw (apart from Shed Seven, he never seemed to shut up between songs). I definitely think there was a lack of stalls though, seemed like there were just big gaps of nothingness between the stages. I'm glad me and my mate drank too, would have been a lot of time to kill sober. I normally go because it's literally down the road from me, but there'd have to be acts I'd want to see. Like you said it's not a hardcore festival, more like a family day out. The crowd in general also seemed older this time around, nobody in their 20's or teens. It's good for what it is and I'd had my ticket from 2 years ago anyway when it kept getting cancelled due to Covid.

Love the video! Planning to go to Dancefestopia this year sober. Used to do waaaaay too many drugs lmao I like my life better now that I'm sober, and honestly have even more fun. It does take a while to get used to, though. If I drank as much as you guys do, I'd be pissing ever 30 minutes lmao. I usually just drink water now. Pop some mints or something if I really want a taste of something. Oh, you did end up drinking lmao. Not to admonish you or anything, but you could do it if you really wanted to. I'd believe in you. Granted, I would get sober *before* going to a festival lol. The being haggard in the morning with a few more days left was one of the things that got me to stop using. I did a hardcore punk festival sober recently and loved it, i went because i love the music and didn't need to get drunk. there was a mix of drinkers and straightedge people there so the atmosphere wasn't too boozy. if it was a more general festival like this though, i'd probably get bored quickly and want to go home

Great idea guys, respect. I’m doing this at Green Man this year. The best non alcoholic beers in my opinion are Brooklyn Lager’s “Special Effects” and Big Drop’s Pale Ale. Both amazing and preferable to most standard lagers in my opinion.
