Swys de Bruin, Peter de Villiers & Robbi Kempson were all impressed with the defensive performance from the Springboks in the second test against the British & Irish Lions.

Kudos to Swys for praising the Bok's #12 cause De Allende's work rate always goes unnoticed. Very good #12 - one of the best in World Rugby but still gets used "wrong" by the coaches game play (on attack)
@psel25012 жыл бұрын
Handre Pollard was on 'Use it or Lose it', and called Damian the best player for SA in the RWC and both Schalk Burger and JDV agreed. So, he clearly commands a lot of respect in the team, and amongst other rugby players.
@riyaan_goku2 жыл бұрын
@@psel2501 That is correct. On the other hand, the coaches could change their gameplay and use their outside backs more (coming from an outside back 😅). I believe Damien and 'Luks' can offer more on attack than they do on defence, and our wingers are regarded as the best in the world. It all depends on Pollard (and coaches). 😂
@monunyabidness59492 жыл бұрын
I hate that they use him as a battering ram ALL THE TIME!! I understand that often you have to set up the defense for later in the game by playing one way, then adding a tweak while showing the same picture later in the game. It's very frustrating. There's so much potential beyond our first center. I think we have the best wings and i'd take Lukhanyo over any other 2nd center playing right now. Luks has a very high rugby IQ and we don't showcase the offensive side of it much. Defensively they are a staggering, staunch combo Damian and Am.

@@jdjordaan9943 I'm wrong for pointing out people making fun of O Divvy's colored accent, Leon Schuster and Wachead Simpson dressed in Blackface, him being ridiculed and treated worse than ANY Bok coach before him, including disastrous coaches like Rudolph Strauali (who still got the biggest job at the Lions after his Bok disaster). I gotta go look in mirror for pointing out the obvious. I was never a fan PDV, Heyneke Meyer should've gotten the job after his 2007 Bulls won Super Rugby. (I'm not a Heyneke Meyer fan either).

I would love to see them move the final test to Newlands. That Greenpoint pitch is ropey at best, and I don't think it can cope with a third game in a row. Newlands is a special place for rugby fans. That grand old lady of South African rugby deserves a fitting finale and send-off before the stadium is torn down. Can you think of a better one than a decider in a Lions series? No crowds or ticketing worries, so moving should be fairly simple. Stadium was used for a Stormers game last week, I believe, so is still in action. #movethetest COYL!!!!!

@theultimatesharpshooter67342 жыл бұрын
To be fair the Springboks played far more heads up rugby in the 2nd test, especially off scrums and lineouts. Where as compared to the first game they were so entrenched in the system that they missed lots of points on the table.

I’m Welsh so you can do your worst 🤣 It’s not a red card - Why? Kolbe is running flat out with the aim of catching the ball. He then realises he cannot jump to catch the ball, so he starts to slow down. But there’s no way he can avoid the collision. It doesn’t matter whether his arms are up or by his side. His “eyes on the ball” is his mitigation. End of.
@monunyabidness59492 жыл бұрын
Your 2nd last question answers your question. He only had eyes on the ball. But if you look at the laws the ultimate sanction (regardless of where the offenders eyes were) is determined by how the player lands on the ground. Head, shoulder, back touching the ground first are automatic red cards with no mitigation. High injury probability. His foot hit the ground first, followed by his arm. A case of it looking much much worse that it was (as much as it wa still pretty bad.)
