I... must watch... again. This was fabulous. When the chords ring so powerfully, and the slides and sweeps are done so well that I get goosebumps, a tear in my eye, and choked up just because of the gorgeous sound... it makes me REALLY miss singing barbershop. Kudos! Serious and honest kudos!

As a choir teacher of highschool students I try to keep some things relevant to them. I play some of the latest vocal groups from shows like the Sing Off and other choral groups. But I ALWAYS make videos like THIS, Amabassadors of Harmony, Westminster Chorus and Vocal Majority to show them what REAL sound is like and what a true, entertaining performance is!

About two and a half years ago I got interested in barbershop, and now when I see a new video (like this) I can immediately spot Patrick Haedtler, Christian Espinoza, and one of the guys from Westminster. #barbershoppride

Kudos to MOH For singing their hearts out, but I was at that competition. And in my opinion, Great Northern Union (2nd place) should have won that year, even though they were short 4 points of taking first.

@lee80us You bring up a point worth mentioning. Yes, Westminster sat out once (6 yrs ago) in '05. Then they went back and placed 2nd in '06 against VM, and won the gold in '07 against AOH. Not really sure of the point of point you were making. Westminster has never been looking for "credit". Bunches of dudes singing bunches of chords. Pretty much sums up every weekly rehearsal, afterglow, and contest performance - regardless of the outcome. Why does barbershop have to be about 'beating' others?

In watching all these clips, I was thinking the same thing and wondering if those on the floor should be wearing rubber soft soled shoes if there will be a lot of movement. I think that would make a big difference. I know one of the Vocal Majority numbers from the last few years had SO many props and stomping and clomping not related to the rhythm of the piece that it was VERY distracting.

@lee80us Since Westminster won in 2010, and MOH won in 2011, it would require one of the groups to lose or sit out to be eligible compete at the same time. And where did you get the impression that Westminster thinks they can beat AOH? Is that something you actually heard from a Westminster member, or was it a rumor, like Westminster having an age limit?

WHAT are you ranting about? Masters were judged the best and they won. They may have a (in your perception) high number of dual members with Westminster, SO WHAT? MOH won, period. As they have a number of dual full members it would not be practical for them to compete against each other in the same year (rehearsal schedules, competition performance clashes/photos). Just makes common sense for them not to. Those that have the time sing in both do so, so again, SO WHAT. They all earned it I say.

Im as sick of it as any regular BHS member is by now. But you can't tell me even with the rule changes its still going to be the same choruses winning for some time barring a surprise by the masterful 'second tier' choruses in atl toronto mn etc.... I alway personality approach singing this style with one goal in mind to constantly improve on and off stage

thanks westmister you won again.... good job now next time play fair instead of having to have dumb rules... if you really think you can beat aoh then please compete against your father chorus and beat them stead of sitting out everytime they do.... then maybe you will have the credit you think you deserve
