This is my first of many MOTU minicomic readings! As a a huge MOTU fan, and voice over actor/musician, I wanted to create some awesome audiobooks celebrating the MOTU minicomics. These are for all my fellow MOTU fans, and parents looking to expose their children to these great stories - in the original He-Man 80s cartoon style! These are strictly for fun and I make no claim to the content, just my voice!

This version of MOTU was what I was introduced to back in 1982. A year later when the cartoon came to TV I was totally confused LOL. Nice job with the narration and sound effects!

This comic gives me a vibe that the intended idea for Eternia was to be a post-apocalyptic world where humans mostly reverted to the stone age and plenty of magical creatures now run loose, which kinda makes the whole "barbarians with hi-tech stuff" thing He-Man has make more sense in my opinion.

While I do like how the later MOTU mini-comics include more from the franchise, there's just something special the pre-cartoon comics have that draws me to the Power.

This is where the power is. It gives you just enough to use your imagination & play in the universe. The figures & the artwork is what drew me in as a child, not the cartoon.

Awesome! This was the first comic i got with my first He-Man figure, which was Ram Man. I love how you did all these. Really brings back the nostalgia...and also lets me see the comics I missed back in the day.

@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage totally a possibility! Just a matter of having the time available. Since I've already developed most of these as "rough drafts" then maybe it's worth a shot to try and remaster some of the classic ones!

@@mastersoftheminicomics I keep all my "raws". If you are using a high class digital editing software, it probably wouldn't be hard to cut out your voice saying the lines and drop in an authentic female one in that empty space.

@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage yes, exactly..but I'm so far improved with my product now I'd want to redo all the voice work, replace some of the music, and add sound effects to the level I do them now...so basically redo the whole thing 😄, which equals time...but definitely something to consider!

This is what made me get into Masters of the Universe back in early 80 s , even though there was the filmation and various show, this first version of He-man is still my favourite, thanks for turning this story from Don Glut and Alfredo Alcala to a live video, nice voice and effects work on this. Really enjoying it.

Wow! I didn't know he man had an origin story before he became! I've never seen this comic book before! Teela has blonde hair and why is the sorceress green? Anybody also noticed stratos standing there with skeletor and beast man as he man watched them entering the castle?

Welcome to the MOTU lore! These points you brought up are all original story line concepts - startos as a bad guy, first rendition of the sorcercess is the green goddess, and even he-man's origin story. It has all changed!

Thanks for sharing. The first four mini-comics have always been MOTU cannon to me, not the Filmation era. No disrespect to anyone who liked the cartoon but the darker, grittier mini-comic storyline is what I wish Mattel would have continued with.

An Interesting take on Skeletor here... The idea that in some other dimension he has an entire army of creatures just like him could spell BIIIG trouble for Eternia, although I find it odd that he would like Teela as his bride when she does NOT have a skull for a face! Wouldn't he find her appearance to be a bit too freakish by HIS standards?!

This was the original concept of Masters of the Universe. This mini comic was released with the first wave of toys before the 80’s cartoon came out

He was thinking with his little skull head. 😂 All kidding aside there were 2 other stories where he lusted after her. One was in a color/activity book with a story entitled, “Bridal Path”. The other was her origin story which was really creepy. Basically he somehow cloned the Sorceress and created a baby version of her. He had planned on raising her to be evil, and then marrying her upon her 20th birthday. Basically, if Man-at-Arms hadn’t intervened, he was planning on marrying his own daughter. 🤢 🤮

The guy who created the comic wasn’t given much of a synopsis and wasn’t given a lot of time to create a story. That’s why the story is so different than the rest of the comic series.

I had this comic before I could read! The drawings are sooo familiar! I went through them so many times before the cartoon came out that I was disappointed the cartoon wasn’t as pre historic looking as the comic. Never cared for Prince Adam, etc.
