This teaching style is much better than just trying to explain what the tools do without using them, much easier to learn this way.

I think a video on "in-SketchUp" dimensions may be worth doing.

Oh, I just thought maybe you'd like to download the model to follow along. I put it on the 3D Warehouse at 3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/09438eed-ad98-4ea9-ba00-378677267d0d/SketchUp-Free-Exercise-Project, let me know in the comments if you have any other questions.

Thank you so much. I really enjoyed that exercise. Absolutely love this kinda format. I find it’s a great way to lock the moves in memory when it’s done in short videos, concentrating on one problem. Is sketchup free an later version of sketchup 2017? If so, should I upgrade? Do I do that whilst in Sketchup 2017?
@Svanevej74 жыл бұрын
SketchUp Free is the web-based version of SketchUp. It runs directly in a browser such as Chrome or Edge. No installation is required, so it is easy to try out. You need to create an account, but it is free. It is not an upgrade to SketchUp 2017, but the functionality is similar. The user interface is completely different from the desktop version and takes some getting used to, but after early struggles I quite like it. One of the main restrictions is that plugins cannot be used. Interestingly, you don't need to be online after you get started, but obviously the cloud storage is unavailable offline.

Greetings from Costa Rica. waw what a beautiful surprise I found today when opening my mail and seeing your demonstration with skp free, I love the icons so clean and my biggest surprise is to see how they are displayed on the screen has a much more professional image. Never stop buying year after year the version of skp from almost when it came out, until last year since I saw no progress, this image is not bottom shape but it is a nice breakthrough, I will wait for 2020 and we will see if I buy it, a thousand thanks.

In SketchUp, there is a Dimensions tool. click between two points, then click to anchor the dimension line. Find it in the Large toolset or the Tools menu.

If you turn on "Hidden Geometry" or "Hidden Objects", you can see objects that have been hidden. Then right-click > Unhide.

Matt, Great video. I went to us my free Mac version 2015 of Sketchup and it's got issues, so I go to the online free version and I notice my space mouse doesn't work?? Is there a trick or do I need to pay big bucks for a new computer version. Help please.
@Mastersketchup4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately the 3D mouse won't work with browsers. In reality, I'm not aware of any non-standard peripheral that works with a browser.
