Remember seeing a rack of their games appear in my local newsagents back in the day, and being amazed that I could buy a game with my pocket money. Before I defected to the C64 I recall being pretty impressed with 'Finders Keepers', somewhat less so with 'Chiller'. Another great nostalgia hit, many thanks!

@@hawkeyepearce1066 Yes! It felt astonishing to see Speccy games in the local newsagents Hawkey. I cheated on my Spectrum back in the day by playing the 64 at a friend's house. 😆

That's how I got 'converted' to the Commodore! A friend had gone out to get a speccy, but the store they'd gone to was out of stock, so his dad saw the C64 and the salesman told him this would boost his kid's grades at school (it didn't), so he stumped up the extra cash to buy one. I remember being mesmerised seeing (and hearing) Revenge of the Mutant Camels, and from that moment, my head had been truly turned.

@@hawkeyepearce1066 The sound and music were superb on the 64! Those Rob Hubbard tunes! Brilliant.

@@RetroKevo429 James Lisney, Jeff's musical arranger, had an uncanny knack for selecting the right theme for his early games. Revenge had 'Ballet Egyptien' by Luigini, Sheep in Space had 'The Sheep may safely Graze' by Bach, and Hover Bovver had the immediately-recognisable folk tune 'English Country Garden'.

@@hawkeyepearce1066Great info! I'll check those out as the music in games is high on what makes a game good for me whether it be old or modern gaming.

Good to see you've returned! Dan Dare was one of the first games I owned on the speccy, and I still rate it as one of the best ever made! Also love the T-shirt!

Good to see you back! Can’t want to more games. The only ZX spectrum game I ever played was some snooker game. I have no idea what it is called.
@RetroKevo4294 ай бұрын
There was a few snooker games I think. Maybe Steve Davis Snooker.

180 was a classic, but Kikstart 2 was the best Mastertronic game I played: build your own levels and the double jump in mid air mechanic was plenty of fun.

@@zboy303 Yes, I really enjoy Kikstart 2. I'm going to do a bit of a play through video for 180 and people can see how rubbish I am. Lol. Great game. I spent many happy hours playing it as a kid. 🙂

@@graememason6419 I've just ordered a few Mastertronic games on Ebay and Pippo was one of them. I love Feud as that one I already have. I'm going to play Universal Hero today and maybe capture some of the footage for a future video. Agent X sounds interesting. Will pick that up soon. 🙂

Liked Kikstart II even though it was a little buggy.
