Not a bad cover actually to be honest but the near the ending part could do with a little work but apart from that ROCK ON!!!

If i remember correctly, they decided to cover an instrumental, because Troy was of the opinion, that he could never sing as good as Hetfield and they wanted to honor metallica and not fuck it up

Explain how putting your own band's twist on a song when COVERING it makes the cover bad? There's a difference between a metal band covering a song and making a few changes to fit their own style and a symphony orchestra trying to make the music sound exactly as it was written. If you want to hear Metallica's version of the song, go listen to the original!

Speaking of Orion, we just experienced Epiphany, January 6, when Orion's Belt is completely vertical in the Eastern sky, from the perspective of the Northern Hemisphere. The three kings as they are known, point to where Sirius rises later that evening, and all four stars point to where the sun rises. It's also the date of Joan of Arc's birthday.

@stefankienzle15879 жыл бұрын
Not at all actually. Sure, Sunn O))) is hard to get into, but it's more driven by creating Dark Ambient music with the sonic approach to metal. Criticizing them as not being able to play because it's drone music is like criticizing Picasso because he didn't paint people with the right proportions Also, if you can sit here and tell me with a straight face that Death Magnetic wasn't some calculated cash grab by washed up rock stars trying to reconnect with their glory days, then you're just being delusional. Metallica hasn't done anything truly relevant since the Black album, and chances are, unless it's suing some kid for downloading their music, they won't do anything relevant for the remainder of their career.

Christopher layne must not have been alive in metallicas early days considering how influential Lars was on other metal drummers at the time. Lars is a god of song arrangement in studio one of metallicas defining features. All these modern metal drummers don't sound like their playing a song. Playing as fast as you can every song is technically impressive but gets old when every band has been doing it in metal for years. Say what you want about Lars but he puts a beat to the song, which is the drummers base job. These machine gun drummers don't have a traditional beat. Lars style is a big reason metallica has such a wide fan base. The songs simply have a beat. Is Lars the best live drummer? Of coarse not but his studio style and arrangement of songs can't be questioned by anybody with common sense. Say what you want, he's a legend and your nobody in a KZbin comment lol

People just just really like to stick to the past don't they. Realize that there are some really good metal bands nowadays with the potential to be as big as the older best ones if you give them a chance. The new bands aren't killing metal, the people who don't give attention to those bands are. Metal is not gonna thrive on the past, old band members will eventually die and if this continues so will the genre. Old metal bands got extremely sucessful because people payed attention to them but nowadays most idiots cannot stop humping old Pantera, Metallica or Slayer albums and decide to completely overshadow the bands that are trying to keep the metal that Metallica, Iron Maiden and Anthrax is for extremely underground shit bands that are nothing like old metal. If you give new bands a chance I guarantee you metal will thrive again like it did before, stop being stuck in the past and wake the fuck up to the present or when you'll open your eyes you'll see your favorite artists dead and all metal gone because the same bands that were trying to revive the old days and that you disaproved of disappeared.
@tedderify8 жыл бұрын
+Bung The Booce theres a reason people are "stuck in the past" simply because its better. bands like Metallica and Pantera have literally changed metal to what it is today, if you dont believe me Led Zeppelin was considered to be the first metal band, i dare you to try and find a similarity to stairway to heaven and Walk and nobody likes the new bands because theyre not trying to "revive" old metal, theyre stealing it dont believe me again listen to "this means war" from ax7 and "Sad but true" from metallica it's literally the exact same know why because metal bands now are literal trash and theyre not creative enough to think of theyre own material
@tfos9938 жыл бұрын
+Frank Tedder That's just plain wrong. If you're gonna list A7X they basically kiss Metallica's songs all the time and do a lot of processing and stealing, they're not what metal is about. They are note representative of the majority. How can you say it's better though? Because its the first? If you don't give new bands a chance, the genre will die. Period. Do you want metal to end up like Ska? The fact that you said that there's no innovation nowadays shows you dont listen to metal that much or you are just terribly skeptical. Animals as Leaders are not original? Mastodon aren't fresh? I don't even like some genres like djent and deathcore but it still isn't copying the past. There are many bands that cultivate the past and develop it like the previous mentioned and Lamb of God, Gojira and tons of other bands. I mean shit, I love metal but some of its fans are fucking cancerous. Do you want the old days back or do you want innovation? Make a decision.
@tedderify8 жыл бұрын
considering the old days were innovative so yes....my point still stands
@tfos9938 жыл бұрын
