This is awesome! Loved Matador on slices a few years back! Great to see him demonstrating this wonderful desk. NIce change to hear a Techno track through the desk than a classic rock track

Yep you guy should do more of these because there is now a whole generation who have never used consoles and if you educate them they will consider buying your 5088 but if they never learn about a console and don't understand it they will just buy another channel strip plugin.

I hardly think guys buying a $249 Plugin-Alliance channel strip on sale for $59.99 are crossed between buying a $98.7 THOUSAND DOLLAR console lmao
@joesalyers Жыл бұрын
@@futuristiccavemanofficial No but you might consider the 500 series EQ or Compressor from this console once you start making money from doing recording work. The 500 series modules from Rupert Neve Designs are the same modules used in the 5088 console and those aren't much more than the average name brand plugin. But 90% of Rupert Neve Designs outboard gear is derived form the 5088 console from the Orbit summing mixer to the Mic Preamps, EQs, and compressor. But's its not about just Neve you might find a good deal on a used studio console like a Soundcraft MH4 or Midas Heritage for a couple thousand dollars to give you loads of Preamps and EQs to use during tracking or mixing and the information is the same whether its the RND 5088 or any other console. Cheers!

Wow- the difference in width between the ITB mix and console mix was striking.
@lighterwaves56592 жыл бұрын
in the studio it does...but how great is the difference once that "better sound" is bounced to mp3 /wav or uploaded to a streaming platform?
@directed69242 жыл бұрын
That's because he added saturation and eq boost to the shaker on the console vs nothing added to ITB shaker.
@ParadNorthProd2 жыл бұрын
@@directed6924 It's more than that. Yes, shakers are brighter, but the synths are wider as well. I hear a similar thing on my 5059 (vs ITB).

I get the same effect just running out to a stereo valve unit. No need for the summing.

Awesome, Awesome video sir! watched it twice, I love this board, but I'll admit, I'm torn between this and the Neve Genesys Black. I think they both are incredible, the 5088 seems to be the more analog of the two, but the Genesys seem a little bit more future proof and more advanced from a technology stand point. I'd love to get them both in a perfect world. But that 5088! Wow, that's beautiful.
@Slainbabyyc Жыл бұрын
i'd argue the neve is more future proof. tech will come and go, but analog circuitry will always do the same thing. you probably will be able to replace the genesys with something a little more advanced in 10 years, but i don't think anyone is gonna make a serious competitor to the 5088, class a with transformers everywhere

24-tracks spilled across the board. Why are you calling this Stem Mixing rather than Mixing? If the RND channel is mislabeling STEMs then we’re in deep trouble.
@RupertNeveDesigns Жыл бұрын
The video title is from the Aulart class they (kindly) gave us permission to share. You're right - this video in isolation is not about stems, but we assume it makes more sense in context with the rest of the class' episodes!
@G_handle Жыл бұрын
@@RupertNeveDesigns Okay, Thank You! I was worried for a minute, but that makes sense (Solo loses context). It may though be a bit confusing for anyone that Doesn't know the difference between Multitracks & Stems to see a video on Rupert Neve's KZbin channel reinforcing that common misunderstanding. Especially since I consider a small, say 16-channel 5088 to be the Ultimate desk for both Tracking duties, and then Actual Stem Mixing and Summing to the 2-Bus. A RND analog front end --> in-the-box processing --> analog busses & summing, with Rupert Neve's signature scrawled across the mixer and the mix, is the modern hybrid studio dream come true. Don't get me wrong this is a Great video for what it is, and I'm sure the full-length class is even better.
