@Gorilla so weit ich weiß hat Steinmeier noch nie das Angebot der Bundeswehr bekommen, dass sie ihm drei Lieder spielen. Merkel hat das in 16 Jahren (wie üblich am Ende) einmal bekommen und hat sich für eben diese Lieder entschieden. Kein Plan warum du jetzt Steinmeier hier reinbringst.

Till is more the male Nina, not the other way around, since Nina came way before Rammstein and Till was clearly influenced by Nina's theatrics. Nina was an icon in the GDR. And West Germany too, we called her the Godmother of German punk. Watch "Naturträne" live from 1978 and bow down

I think there is a big difference between Till and Nina. Till is just crazy on stage. Nina always is. You have never experienced anything like her. She is now well over 60 and I haven't experienced anything like her a second time since I live. She is actually indescribable. She is a living comic character who has nothing to do with comics. Harley Quinn would probably suit her best. 😁

I love everything about this cover of Seeman. NIna's enunciation is so clear,everything pinpoint and the rolling of the Rs is so like Till. I love how she acts like a Siren in the video, luring in the sailor with her voice and then once he is last the point of no return, she abandons him and all is lost. The expression in her face when she snarls "deine Mutter" reminds me of a teacher I once had who used to tell me that she'd be speaking to my parents at Parents Evening! Nina is so versatile, her range is incredible and her look is just individual and outstanding. Great reaction from you both as always. Love the outfit Chels, by the way x

Rammstein have done several duets with Apocalyptica aswell. They did Ohne Dich, Mein Herz Brennt, Ich Will and Haifisch. Unfortunately all live performances that were mostly filmed with potatoes. Theyve done several remixes of Rammstein songs aswell. Till himself teamed with them to for the song Helden, the German version of the David Bowie song , Heroes.

As long as Rammstein has been around, Nina Hagen was successful making music 20 years before Rammstein was formed. A small recent anecdote: "When Angela Merkel ended her 16-year chancellorship of Germany in December 2021, she chose Hagen's song Du hast den Farbfilm vergessen (You Forgot the Colour Film) as one of the three pieces to be played at her Großer Zapfenstreich military leaving ceremony."

the big difference: Nina is a living legend and a real artist, a real gorgeous singer, studied opera voice. She is the punk legend from the 70ies and 80ies... Nina copied this kind of singing with the rolling 'R' from the legendary Zarah Leander from the 1930ies. And Till copied that style from Nina Hagen and the slovenian band Laibach.... I think Rammstein can be very proud about that cover! and the song is much more better then the original....

The first time I saw Rammstein live (here in London 2005), Apocalyptica was the support act. If you are interested, on their 2007 album ‘World’s Collide’ there is a cover of Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ with Till as vocalist, ‘Helden’.

Every frigging German who knows a bit about annunciation can do that kind of annunciation. It's just that all that is too close to Adolf f***ing Hitler's way of speaking (and it's old fashioned and can sound stupid to German ears) that very few people even dare to do it. In the case of Nina Hagen, I can appreciate it. In the case of Till, I never really could - and after the recent Rammstein scandal, I think I know why ... (personal opinion)

Apocalyptica started in the late 90s as a 4 men combo doing Metallica covers with cellos without amps. On their second album "Cult" they plugged in and had only 3 covers, "Until it sleeps" and "Fight fire with fire" plus a crazy version of the classical song "Hall of the mountain king" by Edvard Grieg. Already on the special editon of this album, they featured guest singers for their own songs, like Sandra Nasic from Guano Apes. Until this point, all their songs where just instrumental. Shortly after that, the lineup changed to 3 cellos and a drummer, which is the same instrumental lineup until today. And if I'm right, they play really old cellos, from the 18th century if I am not mistaken. And live they just go crazy on their instruments, I've seen it with my own eyes back in 2002 😉
