Thanks for the upload! I'm a big Colin Mochrie fan and I always wondered what a rebooted Match Game would be like with today's celebs. It's actually pretty darn faithful to the original. Darrin Rose seems to be directly channeling Gene Rayburn in a LOT of his dialogue, which is great. Overall, not bad, with some funny moments.

This was one of my favorite show when I was growing up. Gene Rayburn was a really great host, he had a way of interacting with the panel, the contestants and the audience. With the right host and the right panel I would definitely watch it. But not this.

Love the arrogance of Fremantle Meda, taking credit for "devising" the format. It was, of course, devised by Goodson-Todman Productions (decades before the Fremantle takeover) and, more specifically, by Frank Wayne, Robert Noah and Ira Skutch. I realize that the copyright laws unfortunately permit Fremantle to take credit for "Match Game's" creation, and its a sad abuse of those laws in denying the game's history.

TBS never released the pilot to the public eye, but I found numerous pictures of it on Google. Everything looks EXACTLY as it was back in the 70s. The only difference is that Gene Rayburn (R.I.P.) isn't there.

Well, "Match Up" is actually from the 1990 version -- but other than that, you are correct. Except for the 10x prize money multiplier between SuperMatch and the StarWheel. I confess that I do wish they had the "boards" that had the questions on them and I miss the turntable, but those are minor points. This is a very faithful version. Now, if Fremantle would use this format for an AMERICAN version of the show. I would hope they learned not to fix things that aren't broke.

This is a pretty decent reboot of the old MG. The panelists are okay, the content is decent enough. It's a shame they couldn't find a more animated host. MC's like Gene Rayburn are one in a million, but maybe Colin Mochrie should really be the host of this version, rather than just a panelist.

Sorry, but if you want to take a show that was successful in the past, then use the things that made it successful. Match Game was great with Gene Rayburn, Charles Nelson Reilly, Brett Sommers, Richard Dawson, Fannie Flag, and so many others. The audience was also a participant interacting with Mr. Rayburn, players, and the celebs. The show used bloopers to its advantage, which made the show even more amusing. Also, the former Match Game was much more PG. The current Match Game probably will not be as successful as the old one.

cont... important is... in my opinion it was a big mistake to declare the two regular stars that would be on each week before seeing if they have any chemistry together (which they don't). Brett and Charles weren't regulars on Match Game 73 from the start. It wasn't until the producers and the audiences saw their chemistry and humor they had with one another before they became regular stars on the show. From the episodes I've watched so far I would have made Caroline Rey (sp?)... cont...

This show took awhile to kinda solidify its own humour. Sean Cullen especially is a goddamn enigma. His stand up sucks imo but this show seemed to work for him.
