I guess it runs in the family. Funny, just saw the previous episode to this one (on TV), and I was wondering if Cathy was related to Dorothy... Who could forget Dorothy's "enthusiastic performances"!! Using alittle detective work... found the "Wacky" Dorothy episode, and said to myself, "Self, I wonder if these two are related." Had a sneaky suspicion, this episode confirmed it.

@MatchGameProductions DOROTHY ZINNY!!!!! Ha! She's an epic hoot! is there some way to find out if she's still with us and can "stop by" to say hello on this channel? If she and Kathy Wardlow (sp?) are friends or related and still with us maybe BOTH could "stop by"? Maybe in a little interview snippet? Kind of a "Where Are They Now?" thing? Their excitement was so unbridled and wonderful to watch. They just couldn't contain it. Fun to see.

I watched this as a preschooler and remember when the sign transitioned from '73 to '74. Finally my Mom declared "This isn't for kids!" and we stopped watching it, probably after one of DeBartolo's double entendre questions contrived to get answers like Boobs. The early 70s tech is nostalgic too in the LED and Digital age. Incandescent number lights, an electromechanical ding sound effect that strikes an actual bell, and the theme music featuring the most Wah-Wah Pedal you'll ever hear!

Kathy was Dorothy Zinni's older sister. I believe the people in the audience sitting with Dorothy were their parents. It also explains why Kathy's behavior was similar to Dorothy....including hitting the losing contestant...lol.

Unfortunately, there is a segment of our society so bent on NOT assimilating that they miss out on even the most trivial parts of the larger culture. It's not an accident. German immigrants know "Little Miss Muffet" and the other nursery rhymes because English is the language we speak. You have to intentionally shield yourself from things such as this. And it's not a white man's conspiracy. Nobody in his right mind is even considering shielding kids from English nursery rhymes. "Right mind", being the operative.
