this has to be the funniest most spontaniously unscripted game show ever
@kevansf2 жыл бұрын
Gene Rayburn had the right idea - Match Game wouldn't have been the phenomenon it was had it been a cut-and-dried game show. Instead, the game was an excuse for a group of celebrities (including Gene) to come into your home each day and become a part of your family. You got to know them over the weeks, months, and years, and it was that connection to the familiar faces of the regulars and the semi-regulars (with the occasional newcomer/visitor) that kept people tuning in over and over. The game was really secondary, an excuse to laugh and tease each other, so it didn't matter if the game aspect occasionally ran off the rails with silly antics and chatter and contestants kissing their celeb, etc. But the fact that the game allowed the home viewer to play along was another big draw - you could see if you could match your favorite celebs, etc. I think if a stiffer host had been given the job, sticking to the game and discouraging antics while trying to get a certain number of rounds in per show or whatever, Match Game never would have taken off the way it did.

A delightful episode! Nipsey, Jackie, and Jo Ann fit in with the regulars really well. Thanks for uploading, I've watched just about all 200+ up this point during the past year :)

I musta jinxed myself with my post in the previous episode when I said I thought it was time for Karen to go, not because I don't like her though. My word, Karen musta been tired and couldn't think of the warts have warts

Yes, that William Tell shooting a ____________ off Raquel's chest was a lousy question. I said "bra" which seemed to make sense to me (and apparently to Richard), but everyone else (including the contestant) gave rotten answers to a rotten question. At least CNR made a humorous response, probably knowing there was little chance of matching with a good answer anyway.
