It surprises me that people have such different opinions of particular contestants. I enjoyed Carolita Fraley very much for her whole on screen appearance. After she offered Hudson River versus Hudson brothers she said to Richard before the reveal “it’s all right if we don’t match” - how gracious. Later in the next question when she had no matches at all, she said of the panel “those were all good answer”. So many contestants just look frustrated or angry in those moments. Another commentor said you should look her up and see what she’s done in her life. I’m glad that I took that time.

When Richard Dawson prematurely said, "Ride side-saddle", I thought they should have thrown out the question because the contestant (and many of the celebrities) also said, "Ride".

Yes, since riding the bust of Freud is a possible and logical answer, it seems like Richard's remark spoiled the question. At the very least, it brought the word to the contestant's mind when she might have thought of a different answer. It may have also influenced some of the celebs. I think "lasso" was the best answer though (which, ironically, is what Richard ended up writing).

Personally, I think they let it slide because they were afraid Richard would have a meltdown, and of course, since Richard was the obvious STAR of the entire show, they had to walk on eggshells to keep the STAR happy.

Um I KEEP SAYING THAT ABOUT SAINT RICHARD!!! He LOSES for the contestant almost EVERY time,. I'd like to know why contestants keep asking HIM :( At least Gary MATCHES the contestants! All saint Richard ever does is tell lame JOKES when he loses!

I loved their show, but "Hudson Bros." didn't come to me as the answer either. Favorite Hudson Bros. joke; Freeman King when asked in a skit portraying a famous home run hitter how do you hold your bat? Answered "By the wings"

The Hudson Bros. were about the most forgettable musical group ever, though they were big enough in 74 to have a short-lived variety show. I wouldn't have matched anyway since my first thought was Hudson Bay rather than the river.

I loved their show on Saturday mornings. And the cast members, some went on to other shows in the Barris productions. Langston and Freeman in particular. But, I suppose their music act was forgettable because I can't remember it.
