Unfortunately Gene Rayburn's daughter is the highlight of the Bangor Maine police report in the papers. At 82 years old she still thinks she can drive without a license. She moved north after caring for Gene until his death.

Certainly a better panel with John and Fannie in place of Buck and Patti from the prior week, even made up for Gary and Elaine's deficiencies. Whenever Fannie or Betty were in seat 6, it instantly made the game more enjoyable. It could be tiring watching the same contestant win again and again, but imo Sandy was terrific. Nice demeanor, sweet voice, very pretty, great body (just wish she showed it off a little more). A college student and part-time tennis instructor from Detroit, hmmm, betting she didn't stay single for too long after that.

Interesting is how certain Match Game members dress. Gene (being from the east) dresses in a New York business style, Richard (being English) wears a multi-colored collars and a broad tie (commonly found at Harrods in London). CNR dresses "swinger" style with an open collar and usually some kind of tied scarf. Fannie seems to prefer patterned shirts or sweaters than bring attention to her chest. Brett is much more conservative and dresses more like Carol Brady with some kind of necklace. Jack Cassidy wears the blazer like he is about to walk into a dinner club with a date. Betty White wears dresses that are basically more modern versions of the 1950's dress combination.

@robertbrooks7001 Back then Christopher, Illinois was known for lots of immigrants coming in to work the coal mines in the area. Odds are high that Gene's genetic father (whom he never knew) was killed in a mining accident. Mine safety in 1917 wasn't all that great. Gene was one of many children of Illinois coal miners who went on to become something well known.

This week a winning contestant can choose a H/H match partner from the following cast of "dingbats" (as Gene frequently calls them): We have our regulars Brett and Richard, our fill-in regular Gary, semi-regular Fannie Flagg, and frequent fill-in Elaine Joyce (who has yet to be chosen for a H/H match). Wild card this week is John Forsythe, who makes his first MG appearance. And Gary and Fannie have pretty great track records! But of course, the contestant chooses Richard to start the week... Here's the updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: Orson Bean - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 80% (4 wins in 5 attempts). TIE: Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Betty - 50% (15 wins in 30 attempts). Fannie - 46.7% (7 wins in 15 attempts). Charles - 45.7% (16 wins in 35 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 36.3% (87 wins in 240 attempts). Brett - 35.3% (12 wins in 34 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 461, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")

James Mason was an English actor whose screen popularity peaked in 1944 and 1945. He was nominated for an Academy Award three times (1954, '66, '82). Many Americans would know him from Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" (1959). (edit: But this doesn't change the fact that it was a lousy answer and Perry Mason was the best choice!)
