Joyce said, "I would love to match just one time." I thought she did REALLY good this week for a change

H/H match update and End-of-Week Recap: ... ~~~Today's Action: Our champ just needs to match one more star to win her second game (Leslie and Joyce sit out). Brett delivers the winning match! (But the rest of the panel had the same answer as well.) Today's audience match question: "Rio ________ " (My thoughts: de Janeiro, Grande, ???) The celebs: Charles (de Janeiro), Richard (Grande), Brett (Rita*) - *"Rio Rita" is an Abbott and Costello film from 1942 The choice: de Janiero The answers: Bravo, De Janeiro, Grande Last time our champion selected Charles for the head-to-head, but they didn't match. In the past, contestants have tended to stick with Richard even after three or four consecutive misses, but generally tend not to choose Brett or Charles again if they don't match that first time. So let's see what this champion does... As I expected, she abandons Charles for Richard, and he's now been chosen 71 of the past 74 times. (Charles answered the remaining three questions.) Richard has matched 55 of his 126 most recent attempts (43.7%), 38 of his last 83 attempts (45.8%), and 18 of his last 33 attempts (54.5%). For the sake of comparison: Charles has matched 33 of his 66 attempts (50.0%), Joyce has matched 3 of her 4 attempts (75.0%), and Brett has matched 28 of her 68 attempts (41.2%).} Today's H/H question: "_______ Stockings" (Certainly easier than yesterday's "Final _______"! - And by "easier" I mean there are fewer good choices making a match more likely. Today I'd say "silk" stockings. Christmas stockings is valid, but seems ling a long shot.) The camera catches the champion flashing a broad smile, obviously relieved at the much easier question today to which she appears to have thought of an answer she feels confident about. Richard quickly files his response as well. It looks like a fairly short answer. The champion says "Nylon." My first thought at hearing that was "Oh, no!" The audience shares my opinion, offering a collective groan, and Richard is burying his face in his hands (although he often demonstrates losing body language when he actually has the matching answer on his card). Somehow, I think he's not acting today. But, realistically, she gave a valid answer, and there's always a chance that King Richard may have thought of the same one. Nope. Instead of the contestant, he matches me (and apparently much of the audience): "Silk" No match today. ~~~The Week that Was: Two H/H questions got squeezed in on "Wednesday," giving us an above-average six for the week. With all that, there were only two matches: - Richard 2/5, Charles 0/1 Well, after nine straight all-Richard H/H weeks, his streak (47 consecutive plays) was broken: a new champion chose Charles on "Thursday." Unfortunately, it was the toughest H/H question we've seen in a while, and there was no match. Still, it was wonderful to see someone else get to play at long last. Quickly recapping this week's panelists: *Richard* had a par week this time, matching 2 out of 5 times, roughly his overall average performance. *Charles* played for the first time in over nine weeks, and his miss brings him back into a three-way tie with Betty and Fannie at 50.0% (not the first time the three have been tied at 50%). *Brett* she sat idle for the 16th consecutive week. *Joyce* Bulifant finished her 26th week of 48 without getting a chance to break that long-standing tie with Jo Anne Worley. (Will we have to wait for the Star Wheel to see her play again?) *Leslie* Nielsen served his second and final week on the Match Game panel, sadly without ever answering a single head-to-head question. And *Barbara* Rhoades finished her debut week without being selected for the H/H. But there are still six more weeks on the show in her future. ~~~Looking ahead to next week, these are the faces we'll see joining our trusty regulars on the panel: -----Semi-regular Joyce Bulifant will hang around for her second week in a row (her 27th of 48). She's been tied at a 75% accuracy with Jo Anne Worley for eons. Since Jo Anne has "retired" from MG, it's up to Joyce to break the tie. But first, someone has to choose her! Since she's matched 3 out of 4 times, she seems like a reasonable person to bet on! -----Dick Martin will be back for his sixth week (of 22). His most recent visit was earlier in the year (episodes 896-900) and he hasn't yet been tapped to answer a head-to-head question. -----Last but not least, Debralee Scott will return for her third week (of 10 total). Like so many other MG celebrities, Debralee hasn't had a shot at the H/H yet. ~~~Finally, here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts). TIE: Charles - 50.0% (33 wins in 66 attempts). TIE: Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts). TIE: Fannie - 50.0% (13 wins in 26 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 41.9% (253 wins in 604 attempts). Brett - 41.2% (28 wins in 68 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 940, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, and 910. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!") -- Also, note that episode 849 was never produced.

She DID pick him last game, and I bet saint Richard was some mad too (being picked 60 times in row wouldn't've been enough for HIM) Only 7 people commented on the last video, and I can't believe nobody said anything about somebody else being picked
@ericsloss39637 ай бұрын
Like the other person stated, Charles was picked for the last gm. I actually think Chris got annoyed by how long Charles took with his answer and some of his antics. That's exactly why she didn't pick him this time.
