Good for Charles! What other star would not only admit that he has a rug (for years) but right here, in front of millions, shows off his real bald head! Wow! What a guy. 👍🏽

H/H match update and End-of-Week Recap: ... ~~~Today's Action: Our champion is defeated after two victories. She scored one H/H match (with Richard) and her prize money total is $1,800. *Today's audience match question: "Frankie________"* (My thoughts: Avalon, Valli, ???) - I had to discard my anachronistic first thought: Frankie goes to Hollywood. The celebs: Richard (and Johnny), Betty (Laine), McLean (Avalon) The choice: Avalon The answers: Laine, Avalon, and Johnny (Gene does his Star Wheel spiel.) Today the wheel gives us... Betty! And a double! This is only the fourth double in 11 spins. It's the very first time the sixth seat has been chosen, and only the second time a non-regular has been chosen! Star Wheel Tally: Richard: 5 (2 doubles, 2 matches) - Brett: 3 (1 double, 2 matches) - Charles: 1 (0 doubles, 0 matches) - McLean Stevenson: 1 (0 doubles, 1 match) - Betty: 1 (1 double, 0 matches*) *so far, awaiting today's results... Stats: Betty is the fourth most-chosen celeb (after only the 3 regulars). Her most recent attempts were in episodes 643, 644, 718, 733, 851, 854, 1200, 1205, and 1213. She matched 6 of those 9 (66.7%) and she's matched 21 of her 41 H/H questions overall (51.2%). This is now Betty's 42nd attempt. For the sake of comparison: Betty has matched 21 of her 41 attempts (51.2%), Charles has matched 34 of his 71 attempts (47.9%), Brett has matched 34 of her 76 attempts (44.7%), and Richard has matched 372 of his 877 attempts (42.4%). McLean has had two attempts with one match. Didi Carr hasn't yet played a head-to-head question. *Today's H/H question: "Sacred_______"* (Yikes. Sacred ground? Sacred heart? I have a feeling it's going to be one of those two. There's a sacred heart hospital near me, so I'll say sacred ground!) Betty whipped out her answer in near-record time. It looked she wrote several letters, but that doesn't give me any clues in the ground vs heart debate. Okay. Our new champion champion says sacred "heart." It does sound like a winner (even though I went the other way). The audience response is about a 10 on the positivity scale. Betty has an amusing expression. Maybe she matched? Let's see... Yes! Betty mentions sacred vow, but wrote "Heart." Betty scores her 22nd H/H match today. ~~~The Week that Was: Wow, our second Star Wheel week is a terrific one! Not only did we get 6 questions, but we got four different celebs, and all four celebs scored at least one match! (That hasn't happened since 851-855 when four different celebs also scored H/H (Betty 1/2, Richard 1/2, Charles 1/2, Brett 1/1). Yes, five H/H matches scored this week (which beats the two prior weeks combined), including two doubles, but, sadly, no $10,000 prize yet. Interestingly, after 11 spins of the wheel, only two spins have landed on non-regulars: One each for McLean and Betty. The wheel's favorite so far? Richard! With Brett second. Our final tally for the week: Brett 1/2, Richard 2/2, McLean 1/1, Betty 1/1 Recapping this week's panelists: *Richard* had a great H/H week, matching 2 for 2, and his cumulative score improves from 42.3% to 42.4%. *Brett* matched one of two attempts this week, and her score climbs a bit, from 44.6% to 44.7%. *Charles* sat the week out in the H/H department, and his accuracy score holds at 47.9%, still comfortably ahead of the other two regulars. *Betty* White scored one more H/H match, and her score rises to 52.4%, well above her peers. *McLean* Stevenson finished his 4th week (of 5 total), matching his second-ever H/H question. He is now one for two! *Didi* Carr completed her second and final week on the panel. She never got a shot at a H/H question. ~~~Looking ahead, here's who will be joining our three stalwart regulars on the panel next week: -----Semi-regular Joyce Bulifant, returning for her 34th week (of 38). We haven't seen Joyce for several weeks (back in 1191-1195), and she's currently near the top of the leader board with a 75% accuracy rating, although based on scanty data (3 matches in 4 attempts). But with 20 Star Wheel shows to go, we can expect to see her play one or two more H/H questions, and it'll be interesting to see her score evolve. -----Debralee Scott, back for her 8th week (of 10 total). Debralee last joined the panel in episodes 1191-1195, and has yet to play her first H/H question. With 10 shows to go, she stands a good chance of being selected at least one. -----Last but not least, Henry Morgan will appear for his one and only week on Match Game '7x. Nothing against Henry who may be a wonderful panelist (I haven't seen him play yet, obviously), but I'd prefer to see these final weeks devoted more to old friends - Orson Bean, Bert Convy, Jimmie Walker, Bobby Van, Leslie Neilsen, Anson Williams, Ron Palillo, George Kennedy, Clifton Davis, Donald Ross all come to mind, and I'm sure I'm forgetting several other possible first-seaters who I would've chosen ahead of a new guest panelist who would only be with us for a single week. ~~~Finally, here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 matches in 4 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 matches in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 matches in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 matches in 7 attempts). Betty - 52.4% (22 matches in 42 attempts). Fannie - 48.5% (16 matches in 33 attempts). Charles - 47.9% (34 matches in 71 attempts). Brett - 44.7% (34 matches in 76 attempts). (*)Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 matches in 18 attempts). Richard - 42.4% (372 matches in 877 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 matches in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1255, excluding the missing/damaged/unavailable episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, 910, 1024, 1025, 1026, 1027, 1028, 1029, and 1030. *Also, note that episode 849 was never produced. (These stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969. Note: There was no H/H in missing episode 1035, as we learn in 1036.)

If I remember correctly, the celebs had to answer in poem form, and the contestants would score if their key word was part of their answer...They would write out their key word in a way similar to how those on the current Jeopardy would do Final Jeopardy...
