H/H match update for episode 1344: ... ~~~Today's action: The letter Gene read about "Afternoon Delight" was spot-on. Most of the panelists (delightful as they are) sure weren't up with the times! And that sure includes Gene who was still living in circa 1958-1964 in many ways. But that was part of the charm for me when I was watching this as a little kid, and still remains an entertaining facet of the show today. Well, the game all comes down to Patti. She's the champion's last hope to tie the score. And, as everyone would have predicted... Patti pulls through! She was the only celeb to match on that question! And Charles gets another psychic award for matching the challenger in the tie-breaker. But that one match wasn't enough to defeat the champion who easily wins her second game. (And poor Bob must be feeling a little under the weather - he hasn't plugged TPIR a single time yet today!) *Today's audience match question: "Harold________"* (My thoughts: and Maude, ???, ???) - I'm going on strike until the name questions are over with! The celebs: Loni (Hill), Bob (Lloyd), Brett (and Maude) The choice: Lloyd The answers: and Maude, Robbins, Lloyd Amazing. Well, I guess this time not being up with the times paid off (at least for Bob and the champion). The champion told Gene she had no idea who Harold Lloyd was, and Gene told her he was a silent picture star. Well, "yesterday" this champion took Robert's suggestion, gave him a kiss on the lips, and the wheel landed on his name, and they matched for $10K. Today she took Bob's suggestion and gave him a kiss on the lips. Will the wheel pick Bob for $10K? No. It's Brett! But it is a double! Gene really embarrassed himself with that one. Elephant was a perfectly good response - probably the best response, since KK was in a circus. Besides climbing the Empire State Building and holding/having a liking for Fay Ray, KK also swatted airplanes. I thought that would be the next best answer to elephants. While the most popular answer was buildings - that just isn't "reasonable". I thought Bob's answer of "girls" was also good and appropriate.
