As someone who diagnoses and provides treatments to people with swallowing disorders… sometimes the head tilt CAN be necessary for some people, and sometimes swallowing pills CAN be too difficult. There are a number of reasons pills could give a person difficulty while swallowing. A head tilt, while not commonly used, is sometimes a necessary strategy for certain deficits. And some people cannot take a handful of pills or vitamins. Some may need to only take one at a time, with apple sauce, or crushed and put into a puree.

I lost count but definitely sneezed over 80 timee. It was miserable and if I could have stopped I would have. I was sore for 3 days

You should never tilt your head back when swallowing. It opens up the airway and significantly increases your chance of choking/aspiration. Speech-language pathologists, ENTs and laryngologists that specialize in swallowing disorders recommend keeping a neutral head position or tucking your chin to your chest for swallowing pills.
