I bought this CD years ago and it got left behind on my old bedroom when I moved out. For the longest time I was trying to remember the band and the song. All I remember was the red cover. Today the band’s name and this song title popped up in my head! So good to listen to these songs w fond memories of those teen years.

Matchbook Romance is severely under rated. ❤

Always has been. I'm 33 and I still revisit them often. I was the only one growing uo that even knew about them. I introduced so many people to them, because they fucking deserved it. They made such incredible music.

They got overshadowed by taking back Sunday and brand new.... Both are great, but matchbook romance didn't quite appeal to the masses...

Blasting this in my car in High School. Girlfriend in the passenger seat. Friends in the back seat. One of them doing the double bass with his feet. All of us singing and screaming along. Some of the best times of my life.

Crazy thing is I was doing the same thing in 2004-2008 I'd give anything to just relive a week of those years. Especially if it was summer. So much nostalgia.

Still listening to this song after all these years. Got "stories and alibis" tattooed on my chest. Thanks a lot for this album! And thanks a lot for the screaming in the background. Just what this song needs.

The hand of my clock strikes two In times when I got the best of you We made promises we couldn't keep And every night we couldn't sleep. I didn't know why, but didn't ask questions Because it was the first time in my life, Yeah the first time in my life Where I, did something right. I set myself up for the greatest fall of all time You pick me apart While I search for witty things to say (In my defense) "You'll never amount to anything anyway" (Don't press your luck, don't press your luck) And think that I'm impressed with your one night stands And your contagious kiss I'm trying to get this right Yeah, cause I'm ridicules like that I'll keep this as A constant reminder Of the nights I spent holding onto her And rest assured I'm moving on I miss you less, with each day your gone (your gone)
