I think I have officially seen the coolest Continental ever! I was at a car show last week, and there was a 1962 Dodge Custom 600, and it was also a ratty gasser, it looked similar, only major difference is, they had red tinted windows. Beautiful work!

@@MapleLeafCustoms Exactly! I love the Lincoln Continental design. Love the original Lesney version (except the colors), and I love this new MB release even more. And I love gassers, and I enjoy the occasional shot of whiskey (am not a sipper so much as a shooter!) The JD livery is just classic! It's just turning a Continental into a gasser with a JD livery- the whole combination gives one pause. Yes, I'd buy "the painting", but it still haunts me. Can't wait for your next one! (No pressure!)

nice and ratty, and faster than before. :) I remember reading about a 59 caddy Fleetwood 4door sedan doorslammer dragster in Chrome&Flames back in mid-80's, so these are obviously a rarity. hey, can you say "Raceway Taxi"? :D here is some detail idea for castings that were supposed to have vinly rooftops. since the vinyl's side pieces are usually sewn on, water would seep into the seams over time and cause corrosion. I know this because my battered old Ford Taunus had a vinly roof, and there are two small holes in the roof. explains where some of the water came from collecting by the spare wheel...
