Great review. Very cool video. Ton of cool cars , my favorite to collect is Matchbox . Moving parts is best . Vintage cars that have moving parts are even better . Mike

Another few notes about this series. I really like the new packaging for the moving parts. Next is the scaling of the models. Yes cars like Ford wagon and vw look a bit out of whack but they are scaled fit into standard packaging size fit. Just seeing cars like the Ford wagon with a moving part is great to see. Someone complained about the number of EV designs but seeing the older classic designs is a nice feature as well. Overall the range of vehicles should make a large number of people happy.

Great selection. I think the Bollinger’s front grill drops down too. On the real kne, you can carry, like, 22’ foot lumber and it passes right through the cab. Crazy!

Great video. As you mention, the scale is jacked up. In real size the Ford Country is 5.4m and the Fiat 500 is 3.6m. Ford is 50% longer.If these and Hot Wheels were 1:64 I'd collect them.

The blister box in the older moving parts was designed for making them hard to be stolen by hiding them into someone's clothes or opening them easily for the same reason and the same anti theft procedure is in the new packaging but more eco friendly, good presentation greetings from Greece!

I just recently saw that Hotwheels, when they debuted in 1968 cost US 69 cents. Inflation calculator has that as over $6.00 US now. Currently, mainlines go for $1.18 in Walmart and Target. The moving parts for @ $2.50. Surprised me. Though if you want any of the good ones, you often have to pay a scalper the difference. 😊

Mattel counts their beans expeditiously to keep the car's price point stable. That is why if a car has one thing, it wont have the other. ie, if it has opening doors it wont have tampos. If it has tampos it wont have rubber wheels, etc.

The moving parts line is good but the price is too high and most of the cars aren't really appealing models now or have too much plastic and not enough metal. Distribution here in Canada is weak. We get one mix or two and then nothing new for months 😢. Way too many electric vehicles in the line as well wich is really annoying.
@jjMcCartan96868 ай бұрын
The moving parts line here in ireland cost £7 which works out at almost $9US & basically the same as a greenlight or autoworld diecast which to me are more worth that kinda money though I'm sure they're cheaper in the US & Canada.
@steverobsondiecast8 ай бұрын
Given the push for EV design match is just following suiit in the diecast world. At least the models do not start fires. Time will tell where this goes.

Well down here in the states they cost from .98 to 2.50
@wtffor8 ай бұрын
That is a better price for sure, at 98 cents! $2.50 USD converts to approximately $4 Canadian, so that would be about the same cost as here but still a bit cheaper by a bit.

Great stuff like always . Main thing other then Ferraris i love to find at fle markets is any brand with opening parts . To me there is no excuses why these are the price they are now ....the early cars were usually all metal an still had a opening part an was still $1 .....everything they say is a excuse an i dont accept it ...they were a dollar then and should be $1 now i dont care . Anyway thats my rant ..i do like the fact the new package has no plastic other then the car . Couldent stand that last packaging. Hot wheels is pulling the same thing ...with these 5 car sets that are 4 dollars for just a car with a better paint an a few extra tampos an plastic wheels ..its nit picking an another thing no one asked for I guess i have more rants but these new cars with the entire roof made of a plastic dome is a joke Everyone of them i just won't buy it Your not passing off a half a diecast to me no way ....that gold nissan is half a car the diecast is just doors a hood an quarter panels ... I do like most of them.but ...Matchbox ...Do Better....your match box for cryin out load......remember what you use to do an get back to it Pretty sure there is a black brat as well . No worries on the packaging its awful an usually cant save it ..well you can save half of it lol

Matchbox puts them in the packages wet and hot off the line without giving them enough drying time, that is likely the problem.

I just checked, In Finland Matchbox Moving Parts cost about 7$-9$CAD...😳 So don't have many of them because that. Mitsubishi Celeste is the one i really want to find.
@wtffor8 ай бұрын
Wow that is expensive! What are the main brands sold in Finland, and approximately how much do they cost?
@JS-19838 ай бұрын
HW, MBX and Majorette mainline cars are most common, prices about 3$ to 5$ CAD. Then there is Majorette Premium cars (mainline with opening parts) which are little more expensive. Some Siku, Maisto and Welly can be rarely found too. Just saw HW Neon Speeders those cost same as MBX Moving Parts 😂 Randomly you can find some "special" lines from HW with plastic wheels for MBX Moving Parts price too... Not Premium HW In market here.... Here's couple die cast shops where you can find some (very few models) expensive HW Premium, GL, JL, AW and M2 cars, but prices and shipping... Sweden and Norway have quite same price and maybe even worse selection of die cast. Northern Europe just isn't good place to collect die cast cars...
@Antti448 ай бұрын
Fellow Finn here. I wish there were more Premium Hot Wheels available in Finland. Finally some toy stores have started getting them but the certain models have been already sold out or scalped by the time I arrive. However I'm glad that there's something now.

what do you do about dust having the cars not covered in plano cases? Air filtration or do you clean them once a year?

That new packaging isn't going to work. Too easy to steal car, open to the elements, and for packaged car collectors, it isn't gonna hold up long term.

Surprisingly not easy to get the car out of the new package, but I agree it won't be appealing to packaged car collectors due to the fact you can see less than half the actual metal model.
