The mk4 Zypher/Zodiac range wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but I adored it. As a kid, it looked like a big American car. Of course, I had this model too! You've done a superb job here. Love it.

Hi Rob, lovely job again mate, the pearlescent paint is something I haven't tried yet. On the partially broken windows I just wanted to pass on what I,ve been doing when possible. If I have a window like style you had there with a broken back pane and I have another with a broken front I cut and shut them, you dont see the join as it's inside the roof. The fixing point in the middle makes a handy reference point. Cheers for now, Pete.

I have always loved this casting and I have purchased a few of them as I have come across them in groups or in sales over the years. You did a pretty great job with the restoration/customization of this model. The only thing I am not huge on (personal choice) is the color you choose for the tail lights... too orange for my taste. I'd still give this a ten out of ten stars! - Would love to see someone (maybe you hint hint) take one of these, and one of the Ford Cortina's from the 70's that Matchbox did and did a comparison in the same colors. Kind of like a then and now (then).

Hi rob good resto the ford zodiac mk 4 is my favourite casting ive recently restored one with a missing bonnet top tip the bonnnet is crimped in if you replace the bonnet open up the crimps on the casting just enough for the bonnet to sit in place you dont need to re crimp it on the engine peice there is a tab that sticks out of the dashboard glue an extra peice of plastic on top that will keep the bonnet in place when youve reassembed the car i had to break up the other casting to extract the bonnet as you also found it can break easy happy new year will lok forward to seeing more of your restos great channel rob

Nice detail touch with the number plate. 1967/68 F registration was white letters and numerals on black on the front and silver numbers and letters on black on the back. As per my Dad's Mk2 Cortina. Yellow rear plates came in 1972 if I recall correctly.

Rob, love your videos. Just a thought I had when you said something about saving glass that is broken. Since the cracks are nearly impossible to repair why when you have multiples like this one could you not cut one with a good front windscreen in half and one with a good rear screen in half and bond the two together as the seam would be hidden inside the car unseen?

Great job Rob, watching you do the wheel touch up I was wondering if you ever use the Pledge to shine your wheels, I was experimenting tonight and put a couple of wheels in the pledge and when they dried they came out quite nice. Obviously here you had not removed them from the base so not an option.

That's some weird paint Rob; two cars for the price of one.😄 *Both* colours look good on the old girl though, quite appropriate. The bonnets on these were never a great fit; my childhood one was the same, just didn't quite close properly. Does it catch on the spare wheel a wee bit? Have a great New Year when it comes,🥂🥃🍻 Cheers for now, Dougie.

About the paint's color on the airbrush. These pigments aren't based on light reflection as normal paint, but use refraction. They need to be very thin, and just a few coats of paint with the pigments not even necessarily lining on top of one another keeps them that way, but too much ruins it. Long story short, it works the same-ish way as water and rainbows: a mist of tiny tiny water droplets, and they bend light just the right way. Too much water, and it can't bend light the same way in a visible enough way anymore. It is just in a more solid form (pigments are tiny solids) rather than purely liquid.

silver works better with CANDY paints. The color shift stuff, well I don't know. Apparently the black is the way to go with that. I don't get why all these Fords were sold in Europe but not in the US. Kinda looks like a four door Falcon though, but not quite. Didn't carry the spare in the front, that's for sure.

Hi Rob. When you say commission do you mean he pays you an agreed on price or that he sends you a bunch of cars. Just curious. I just picked up a battery operated tool for the buffing work from Harbor Freight today. As luck would have it I found 1000, 2000 and 5000 grit sandpaper there also. This is going to be a fun hobby.

I felt as if you cheated. The body is from a different model, the glass is from an old restoration, and on the final reveal, the hood doesn't close all the way! I'm glad that you enjoyed the holiday with a few pints, but it did mess up your usual good judgement. Please re-edit this to show the body that you actually used so we can actually see the true before and after. Cheers mate!
