I think it's better to keep wildcard for matchday 5. use your limitless in the group stages because if you use it in knockouts your team goes back to the way it was the previous matchday --> in knockouts you will have a chance that half of your team is knocked out the matchday after you use your limitless. So use wildcart in knockouts and limitless now or matchday 3

i am using the WC b/c my team is not in a good shape so am forced to use it. i was planning on doing exactly what you said but my team underperformed and is not ready for the next. and i am going to use the limitless chip next matchday.
