It's great to see new mods being developed for Total Warhammer II. What do YOU think of the mod?

Hey, thank you IroncladLion for showing off our mod ! we are indeed a team of animators and modders. So just for clarifications the current matched combat anims for the humans and vampires come from Troy, there are many of them and they look really cool, so thanks to these animations we already have a great base for our mod and the combat between humans. There are also our first custom animations in game for various races, like wardancer vs bigun, dwarf warrior vs orc boy etc We are currently working on a lot more animations for humans and vampires, aswell as expensing the possibilities for other races. And fear not, this will eventually come to Warhammer 3 :) The mod will take a lot of time to make and we are always welcoming more animators to the team, cheers !

So from what I have found out the majority of the fighting animations for human and Grave Guard units were ripped right out of Total War Troy. The easter egg animations not listed on the mod were the ones directly made by the mod team. Not trying to take away from what the modders are doing (Those easter egg animations are amazing) but the video implied that all the animations you showed were created directly by the mod team when they weren't. Either way still super excited to see this mod continue to develop.

Ah gotcha, my mistake. Regardless though, I love the project and can't wait to see more animations.

@@IroncladLion No worries. I just know that there are going to be some people who go all "CA is to lazy to do this" sort of thing. I understand why sync combat had to be removed but I am happy someone has the free time to add it in.

I don't know how recent they are but checking out the mod page now looks like they have some custom stuff coming out. Showed off some WIPs for dwarves vs greenskins, skaven vs a lizardman, and a few others

2 questions: How has the mod affected game performance? I've used some unit scripting mods in the passed and run into issues with crashes, lag spikes, etc. 2. Did you notice a difference in combat outcome due to this mod? In tw the animations actually directly cause unit damage, so this mod has the potential to actually change the outcome of a fight. Also if you're looking for a mod, if you're a handgunner simp like me I'd check out guns of the empire. I've been having a blast with it in my current campaign.

Excellent Questions! 1. I felt no significant impact to performance. Granted I've only done these small scale skirmishes to see the effects myself. I haven't done a Empire/Bretonnia/Vampire campaign with this mod enabled so I can't give a comprehensive answer. 2. It's hard to say if it would significantly impact the outcome of a battle. Since the only way for the mod to take effect, is if both sides forces are involved. Even if there were some slight differences in damage dealt, both sides would be effected, therefor rendering the difference moot.
