I read on Closer magazine's website and I learned that Match Game returned in 1973 due to the success of Hollywood Squares.I'm glad that Fred Grandy got to do the CBS version,as he was almost always on the syndicated shows.

Unfortunately, the play that Charles mentions at the end closed after only one performance. Rene Auberjonois went on to have a pretty big career
