I thought Richard's answer about the ladies he loved (after 13:45) was very sweet. He said "there are only two ladies I love, my first wife and Jody." That was LOVE, not LOVED -- Diana Dors was the mother of two sons, and he still cared. They had been divorced nine years at this point. Also, boy, poor Jack Narz. He seemed to be struggling to answer questions, even though he and his wife seemed very sweet together.

I actually remember this when it aired. I specifically remember Bob asking the question about lipstick on the collar. Even then, I knew it was something naughty. I was born to be a game-show geek. KDKA in Pittsburgh would show this at 9:00 or 9:30 in the morning. It was probably a day after the network broadcast, which aired in the afternoon. Wikipedia says this aired during the week of 15 November. I would have been in kindergarten at the time. Maybe I got lucky and stayed home that day?

In case you're wondering about the show that Bob was referring to that Richard Dawson also hosted, "Lucky Pair" was a show that he produced in the early 70s that he hoped to get into syndication, but it was only seen in the Los Angeles area. Yes, agree that Anne Convy was a beautiful woman. She was also obviously a very intelligent and talented wit. For some thirty years they appeared to have a loving happy marriage so it was difficult to comprehend his rejecting her, tossing her out to pursue divorce and remarriage to a young woman their daughter’s age. It is so at odds with his earlier reputation as a good, decent man. Perhaps the growing brain tumor had changed his values and personality.
@janethartwig7745 жыл бұрын
I can find no mention of Richard Dawson having a wife named Jody. Diana Dors and Gretchen Johnson only.

Correct. They dated in the mid 1970s but did not marry. She seemed very sweet.
@jondstewart5 жыл бұрын
Bert was divorced from his wife of 30 plus years Anne just months before he died and married to another woman when he died. Isn’t that just a little wrong considering he was so likable and good-natured? So many people like him tend to die earlier.
@patriciacercone22263 ай бұрын
Must have been impaired by the growing brain tumor. Decent men of good character, good humor, likability and ration do not go to estranged wives after some 30 years, three children and say they don’t mind dying unless still married to her rather than a woman younger than their daughter.
@jondstewart3 ай бұрын
