that's like calling a ballet dancer "robotic" ^^ she seems to be very emotional, but really good at leaving those in the locker room until the match is over. And in my opinion that's a big strength in all cue sports.

She’s a really good shot maker, obviously. I like the way she minimizes cue ball movement. On the other side, I watched Melling play Strickland and to me, Chris moves the cue ball too much. But she hits the center of the pocket like a stroll in the park. In the second game I think she should’ve played I think the six ball (?) in the far corner which would’ve left an easy next stop shot for the nine. She left herself a nasty cut and then overcut it, leaving the object ball short. But to me, Melling makes a lot of awkward choices that increase risk. I suppose he’s been successful but I don’t understand a lot of decisions he makes. But to me Melling is a pretty sloppy player.

I've noticed Melling do this too many times. His last attempt he took less than a few blinks of the eye to pull the trigger. He wasn't under time pressure, but his ego and overconfidence sank him.

I would watch so much more Pool if they would get rid of the shot clock. What is it supposed to add to the game? I only see it taking away quality decisions and shots. Am I alone with that?

@@JeffMTX I agree. Still most players don't do that and there's no shot clock in Snooker and it doesn't hurt them, it's still awesome to watch, even if you watch a player figuring a way out of a good safety for several minutes. I'm absolutely sure that removing the shot clock wouldn't impact the flow of the game in an extensive way, but it would bring more quality to the table. I see so many poor shots pulled off in a hurry, because the clock says so. Imho the game of pool is at its best when there's either a very flowing game going on (but then there's no need for a shot clock, because players tend to play faster when they flow) or when the game is more like chess but with balls. I would like something like the referee giving a warning to the player if the ref feels the player tries actively to slow down the game to impact the opponent or something, and after the warning it's 30 seconds and after that it's ball in hand for the opponent.
