Was Skyler just missing those shots because of nerves? I mean they were literally straight it gimmies. I have had that happen in a tournament before. Every single shot just looked so impossible. And I would end up missing. I had a straight in shot to the side pocket. The ball was six inches from the pocket and the cue ball was maybe 8 inches behind that ball straight in and I missed. Lol. A ball most of us could make in our sleep with both arms tied behind our backs. I'll never forget that shot. It was nerves. I was shaking and just felt like I was going to miss everything. And I did. That's only happened to me once thank goodness.

Years ago when he was young they interviewed Sky before his first Mosconi cup. They said are you nervous? He said I don't get nervous. Lol. He didn't understand that after years and years of losing you start to get nervous. He gets nervous now, that's for sure. One of the most nervous, choking players in the game.

This is the issue with Woodward. Really talented, has all of the shots, but has an alarming tendency to miss easy shots. Very disappointed he played so poorly in this match. Every time I think he is going to put it all together and break through and win a big title - he falls apart.

Skyler's mistakes were because of the tight pockets. This should sound an alarm to all US players. Stop playing too much on the big barrels. Small pockets is what they are going to use in international events in the future. People like Dang practised on chinese 8 ball tables regularly. These 4 inch pockets are actually very generous compare to the chinese pockets. But they are nightmares to most US players. They may play OK when they are relaxed. But you will see the difference when pressure got them.

i wish they will take out that warning sound once the shotclock is down to 5 secs in all tournaments. you ask the audience to be quiet when someone is taking a shot. but you let that shotclock sound do its work when a player is taking a shot. for me that will get the player out of focus
