love hearing this song - lucky enough to hear them live in Salford when they sang live before a choir of the year event. Great to hear them talking about the song before singing it again.

the song reduces me to tears all these years later too, I became an artist late in life and kept hearing I am not very good so this song is even more poignant to me now

It was so lovely to hear this song live, so many years on, and reminds me of my childhood in Manchester, and my dad who has probably met Lowry in heaven by now. Kevin, you sound just like my dad. 😢 I mean, you really do sound like my dad! Uncannily so.I was quite okay until I heard you talking and then the floodgates opened LOLOMG! Must get the tissues ha ha But love this song and hope I will be able to sing it one day in public, but don’t tell anyone because I’m very shy about the whole thing at the moment. 🥲 But the other thing that is really strange is that I keep hearing Mancunian voices on the phone when I ring the bank, or various other places, and it has happened a lot this week. I’m in the south of England now, in Dover, but feel just a little homesick after listening to you to talking and singing. God bless
