As a tool dealer for many years, I carried a pocket notebook with me and wrote down the things guys wanted to see on the tool boxes and also new tools, colors, etc. I was very involved with sending those notes to my DM and upline. I was successful quite a lot. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

*MATCO* for the win - great service and support always had good experiences. Their Ratchets are the best as well as screwdrivers along with many other items.

It turns out if you have the best in the business make your stuff for you, to your specifications you will get it right. You pay for customer service and not having to do research with matco. Anyone who hates on them for rebranding are silly, if you don't like it buy the original brand, see how many payments you can get it cut down to and how often they'll run the new tool to you when you break or need it.

I have one of these the new 2s boxes in Matco Red and absolutely love it. Bought it first week out. The price is awesome and when I get it paid off....8 years from now ....will get the hutch! 😁

Take 3 to 4 in off locker shelves and add a pull out for long pry bars in the back, shorter to the middle and long extensions in front down to shorter in the middle. About half way down this pull out add a rack for the shorter bars and extensions.Make this rack adjustable up and down and offer it with bar holes, extension holes or both. Place it in the box side of the locker, so that when standing in front of your box with it pulled out you have access to both bars and extensions.

Also, you can get gutsy and drill holes in the top shelf of the box and utilize the gap inside that is between the back of the drawers and the back of the box which has a couple inches in there. The only thing poking out on top would be the pry bar handles showing. As long as there is soft close, the drawers wouldn’t bang too hard on the pry bars when closing your drawers.

My understanding is Matco used to make the boxes for mac and then split away. Always had good boxes. I have some old orange flagship units. A top and a drawer section.. like their quality.

The best thing Matco, snap-on or Cornwall or any of them guys could do. Is design a vertical 4 inch wide shelf with a rack that slides out that can lock onto the side of the current boxes. That way a tech can just buy the new vertical box to lock up extensions and pry bars with out having to look at getting a different box. More people would be apt to buy a small extension box than look at buying an entire new 6-10 k tool box. If I had any intelligence or design experience I would design it and sell it to them guys

This box would make a lot of sense if you’re working out of a bigger cart and use the main box for overflow. If I was going in and out of it all day that deep second drawer would probably be a deal breaker

Why would you need a wrench drawer in your 2s if your wrenches are in your tool cart? Remember, not so just starting out. Looks to me the new 2s is more for next leg up kind of thing. Great vid.

Koon, I do not like the fact that the front lip is gone on the 2S box. I had a cheep box some 30 years ago that had no lip and sockets just keep rolling off.

Why not just add a small piece of plastic molding as a lip and stick down with a little 3m tape?

@@waltkosch That is close to what I did. I made a wooden floor piece than used yard sticks to make a rap around lip. That way I had a work surface and a lip. But to make a box with no lip, just sticks me as wrong, But that is just what I like.

Its a nice toolbox for sure but for the money those extreme toolboxes are really sweet with the 3 long drawers ontop 1 tall 2 short, I got my sockets, ratchets, extensions up top then put the wrenches in the first short drawer and the 3rd short drawer is sort of a fabrication / oh sh** drawer ... You know what a ugly color box is? FULL ON COPPER OR STAINLESS STEEL Blehhh those are the boxes dealers sell for less than cost after its been on and off the truck for a year LOL
