As a kiwi a maori im almost jealous of the support your team has. Turn up all day every day win lose or draw turn up in huge numbers with their beautiful singing and hymns infectious playful energy and excuding so much pride for their country. Being in the stands when the Tongan’s sing i have no idea what they singing but wow it warms your heart and makes u wanna cry its so special to experience when i hear them singing im hearing love pride and passion. As a samoan there are many things to learn from the tongan supporters. I even feel sorry for them with the police clamping down on their parades in Ōtāhuhu. As a league fan who is tired of the kangaroos always winning i’m hoping MMT beat the roos but at the same time I feel happy knowing the tongan supporters are gonna party regardless of the result.
