I said it would be 42-21 in the post last week, I was a little off. Rancho was just over matched, their offense scored twice once on a busted coverage, and then on a halfback trick pass play. They never had one drive in the entire game where they got more than two first downs and their dynamic running back averaged 1 yard per carry. So when you have the superior team and they're dropping in coverage you line up and bust their nose with the run. It got ugly in the second half. This was always a three team race. Bosco, Mater Dei, and Centennial. The other teams were just there to fill in the brackets.

Gorman, yes. IMG, not so much. MD beat Bosco, and Bosco beat CC by 2. IMG only beat CC by 1. MD would take IMG. IMG's problem is they have no heart. Just an all-star team with no history or soul. MD by 7-10.

Just not fair private schools playing public schools! Should be two CIF divisions. One public and one private. At the end of the year the champs in each divisions should face off and play each other.

People kill me they act like they don't understand football. Yes private schools have an unfair advantage against public schools because they can pull from anywhere not just their community. Perfect example Redd runs the ball, goes out on a streak and then plays defense, now he's burnt out. Mater Dei does not have 1 player that has to play both ways, hell they have division 1 talent leaving the school because it's too deep at their position for them to get any run and I'm talking about power 5 div 1 players. If you take they're entire team including underclassmen that don't play, it's probably 30 to 40 future D1 players on it. The only public schools that can match private schools are schools like Centennial that have a super tradition and get every star player in their area and get the transfers from private schools that leave because of playing time. Rancho has to share players with Upland, Damian, and all the surrounding public schools. Do the math. I went to a public school and now my kid goes to a private school, when my boys come to the school and see the facilities, the strength and condition coaches, the nutrition program, they complain about how unfair it is. It's night and day.

LOL that was 20 years ago, Poly can't even compete anymore, all the kids that would have went there goes to Serra or Bosco. Bru is a 5 star recruit and he doesn't even start on either side of the ball. Let's see in the last 25 years Poly is the only public school win a open Div. title, maybe that doesn't mean anything, other than Centennial all these public schools are going to keep getting the breaks beat off of them, year after year but hey if you like it I love it. He said Tyson Chandler he's like 40 yrs old now. Other than maybe Centennial you will not see a public school win a national championship in your lifetime.

What are you laughing at? Poly can't compete? They won the Pac-5 in 2012 and got upset by Granite Bay (another PUBLIC school) in the D1 state bowl game. They also got upset in '08's state bowl game by Grant, ANOTHER PUBLIC school. Regarding Bru, you didn't say anything about MD not having a STARTER who plays both ways. You simply said MD has no one playing both ways, which is WRONG. (And yes, Bru does start some games.) And "other than maybe Centennial you will not see a public school win a national championship in your lifetime"? WTH?! In the LAST 10 YEARS, there have been SIX public schools that have won national titles (Katy, Booker T Washington, South Panola, Miami Northwestern, Southlake Carrol and Lakeland).
