His performance in the World Cup 06' final against France is one of the most legendary performances ever. - created the penalty that led to the Zidane "panenka" goal - scored the equaliser for Italy - completely neutralized the French attack, especially Henry - took out Zidane with a red card - scored a penalty during the shoot-out Basically, he was involved in every important situation in that final.

Lol he wasn't even that good. He had a good world cup when Nesta got injured, and because of that people think he was a legendary defender when in reality he was never considered among the best CBs in Europe during his playing time, and he never really stood up in Inter's defence either. He was never colse to being a world class defender.

@andjelkozlotvor

This was a man’s game back then, especially in Italy. A war in every possible sense, and that includes: cheating, acting, lying, bribing, brawling, bawling, bullying, intimidating, insulting, injuring, diving, fixing, doping, spying, sacrificing, sometimes even killing… in other words: fighting on every possible fields. That’s why I always loved football, and particularly Serie A. It’s not just “go out and play” or “maybe the best win” but rather perpetual struggle and passion where (almost) everything is permitted.
@EaglesNest1986

@@andjelkozlotvor the only thing that I find to be any part of a “mans game” out of the list you made is the brawling. It’s a shame we don’t see some aggression and fire from the players any more, the rest however is cheating and actually criminal, and has no place in sport whatsoever.
