On Sunday, August 25th, we hosted a discussion with Mateusz Stróżyński on his new book Plotinus on the Contemplation of the Intelligible World: Faces of Being and Mirrors of Intellect, published by Cambridge University Press. Stróżyński presents contemplation not just as a component of Plotinus' thought but as an essential dimension, offering both a conceptual framework and a first-person experiential insight into metaphysics. The study focuses on the contemplation of the intelligible world, including Nature, Soul, and Intellect, through the journey towards the Good. It explores the soul's descent and return via the "Great Kinds"-Being, Movement, Rest, Difference, and Identity-borrowed from Plato's Sophist.
