You can make the case that “Im Bad” inspired a new generation of MC’s more than any other song. People forget, not many new what LL looked like. He didn’t have a video up until that point. Unless you saw Krush Groove, you didn’t know what he looked like. You couldn’t just google your favorite stars like you can today. Their aura was a lot different than it is now. People would stop what they were doing when I’m Bad came on. It was legendary. At that point, he was the only solo artist getting played on MTV. It was monumental. From Eminem to Math Hoffa and countless other MC’s, everyone was picking up a pen when I’m Bad dropped.
